Today I.....

...saw my first white A2 on the road. Looked a very nice example; was it you? Saw the vehicle on the B1008 between Chelmsford and Great Dunmow...strangely at the same place as a see a black A2 each morning.

Currently feel like I want to scrap the car is just starting to really get on top of me.

Why you ask?

Yesterday I had the car booked into a local VAG specialist to get the g263 sensor replaced after I was given a decent quote. After taking the trip down and leaving it I was phoned an hour or so later to say "sorry we got that wrong we need to take dash out so the quote is now 10 times what we quoted you already"

"Oh and that fuel filter you asked us to fit? Well it looks like it's never been out so obviously when we tried to take the existing filter out the plastic bolt broke"
New housing ordered, bolt removed from package and put on old housing as state of fuel lines with diesel bug not great. Bill for bargain £4 diesel filter - £123.

" One last thing we've also noticed you have play the the n/s track rod"

That's the one I had installed new 7 weeks ago.

Car was booked in for MOT this morning so that was canned.

So now waiting for call back from WOM to see if they can fit me in early next week but been told it's unlikely. Also about to go back to garage who fitted rod ends to get them replaced.

Right got that off my chest!

Must be frustrating - sorry pal. The good after bad adage doesn't apply here though - bit by bit you are buying a new car on an instalment plan.

I might be convinced to have another go at that sensor when my inner ear and hand heal sufficiently.

Hi Euan

Looking at your updated avatar, have you had your car wrapped/resprayed?
No Steve, but it is close to the wrap I want to do but need to wait until summer for that.

I am currently doing a full centre console/dash/ av redesign. It has been in progress on paper for about a year. Recently I have came on leaps and bounds with finding the right parts.

Today I ...have had a new idea for the re-location of the front cup holders which i have removed in my plan.

Today I... Fitted hel performance braided stainless brake lines. Its a nice difference and a very easy install. The only modification required is drilling out the hose bracket from 14mm to 16mm.

Left car for an interior detailing. Unfortunately the sun decided to hide and clouds came in. Hopefully dries fast.

Yesterday I painted the drums and calipers hammerite silver after cleaning off with the angle grinder and wire wheel. I also cleaned all the wheels inside.
