Today I fitted new HID bulbs to my headlamps.
Tom installed HIDS4U H7R 35W kits for me nearly four years ago and the first bulb had packed in.
It took me more than an hour and a half! That’s the reason I don’t do much work on my car :)

For the last 3 days I've been busy - see https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/good-scrub-up-today.37254/post-327223 .

Just to end on a low, my driver's door strap has gone :(

But to end on a high, over the last 2,000 mls and 150 litres I've returned to 60+ mpg. Best for a long time. Lots of steady driving showing some friends from Denmark the sights plus 2 fast return trips to Heathrow plus no doubt the 2 year service helped. :)

Today I finally fitted the replacement front bumper I bought off @Sarge back at Kimbolton. Well, I say today but I started about 2pm yesterday, then it took so long to actually find and get a Torx bit to the four screws in each wheel arch, that when dark, cold and hunger overtook me I was still trying to do the first side back up. Much easier this morning, all back on quite quickly in the end, then some work with the heat gun to flatten the bottom front edge to the edge of the undertray as far as possible. The original bumper was cracked in the bottom OSF corner and held together with black tape. This new one comes with its own set of paint imperfections (as they all will if you don't go for a respray) but the end result is definitely an improvement :)

today I fitted a long 5th gear, new gear box oil and reset the gearbox selector cables, sorted out a nagging washer low level fault, recode the head unit for BOSE and finally fitted cruise control for a member.
As if that wasn't enough I fitted new check straps and sorted out a fault on a rear speaker for another member.
Sat having a beer now which I think is well deserved :)

Went out this morning and started up my 02 TDI As it was frozen solid... after 5 mins the webesto kicked in shortly after that I switched the car off as I wanted to Lock the house up.... there was a big thick plume of smoke come from the engine bay, I am i right in thinking it’s burning off the unused diesel?
