Today I.....

I bet the first think you comment on is how light the new clutch feels
I certainly did when I replaced the clutch as part of the jdd gearbox swap

Your spot on there. Couldn’t believe the difference !

No problems either way on the trip. Didn’t see a single A2 on the road. Plenty at WOM Automotive though !

Today I received some brand new parts from Audi Tradition.

Sooo beautiful I can’t stop looking at them (sad I know!) Storage tray was very reasonably priced whilst the bezel slightly less so you can’t argue for a new part that’s not being manufactured anymore.

Audi’s delivery charges are excessive, however with help from @Rickmeister delivery became reasonable too so a win/win.

I might hold off fitting them just so I can look at them some more! ?
Hi jeetesh,
Glad you got what you wanted.
Keith.

Where are they! I passed 3 in half an hour today!

There were 3 on my local Aldi car park ( Haydock, St Helens) a few weeks ago!

Liking Cenick pics of his road trip, that train being empty is a sight for sure and must feel slightly strange. We all seam to love doing this sort of thing and driving back home in ones new steed so i thought i'd post these up buying the 2 A2's we have.

Apologies if you've seen them before but maybe a few haven't. It's one of my favourite pics i've ever taken, well to me anyway, and unlikely to ever replicate it again. Taken on the way to pic up Cobalt Blue in Edinburgh and the 400 + mile journey back. Ive just passed the camera to Oliver now a few days ago which made his day, bless.

One of them was mine, but I see loads around here. There is a red colour storm tdi which I really like, may have to put a note under the wiper about first refusal ! I’ll look out for you and give a wave, I’ll be in a silver one, or a dolphin grey one. ?

Temporarily replaced the headlight which meant reshaping some of the existing panels before making the trip to collect parts from @oneflewover and @depronman over coming weeks. Not perfect but at least it’s legal now.

Looking at the fault codes, it looks like it could be a problem with the egr valve as it says it’s open circuit. I would check the wiring to the egr valve and if that doesn’t work, maybe a replacement valve. Buy a Pierburg as the cheap ones don’t work. Air leaks can also be caused by splits in the hoses connected to the inlet manifold. Check all of these. A smoke tester is a good way to trace any air leaks if you can find a garage with one. I also had an air leak which was a split in the plastic oil filler pipe, so check this too.

Thanks for the reply.

The said they couldn't find any leaks in hoses or pipes. I thought it would be the ERG valve but they seem adamant it's the ECU and advised sending it to an auto spark. I bought a ECU with the same part number for my car with the transponder part of the key off eBay for 20 quid. I'm tempted to get a EGR valve too and get them both fitted. The ECU seems to be a 10 minute job to fit and then if it needs programmed.

Someone on another forum suggested taking the positive and negative off the battery and holding them together for 15 minutes because they said it would reprogram the ECU.

It might be worth clearing all the faults codes. Have you got VCDS? Then drive the vehicle and see what it throws up. Sometimes several codes can mask the original problem. If you haven’t got VCDS, try disconnecting the battery for 30mins and restart. This should set all ecu values to default. This may help with problem solving. In my experience, air leaks were the cause of a lot of the problems which appeared to be caused by other things.

Today I went and made it official, I am now the proud owner of this Pine Green Tdi sport 75bhp 5 seater Black leather interior, Bose with Cd autochanger, cruise control, rear electric windows, false floor with colapsible spare wheel, foglights and mudflaps all round. This is keeper number 2, my plan is to keep this 100% original and restore back to mint condition. ?

Looking forward to it's progress. ?

Hi there, How much do they charge?

WOM price for supplying & fitting new LUK Clutch was £375.00 + VAT = £450.00

My usual place to take the A2 for many years has been Harper’s Cumbria in Carlisle. Only about 50 miles away. WOM is 110 miles away. Harper’s total quote was £200.00 more. WOM are highly recommended in A2OC circles, so thought I would give them a try. I do intend to go back to WOM, although I did not work out the cost in Fuel for 660 miles of driving the A2 220 miles there and back and the A6 Avant 440 miles there and back twice to drop the A2 off then to pick it up again.

Steve

Fitted new rear bump stops and sleeves. Nice and easy job the hardest part was fitting the sleeves to the bump stops. I used hot water and silicone spray in the end. No real difference it the drive but at least my A2 doesn't look like it's socks are around it's ankles.
