Today I.....

Today I took delivery of OE51XBB for the second time. :) I was the original owner back in 2002 and now 19 years later she's back. Thanks to @Davidkinton for maintaining her for the last couple of years and thanks for the boot full of spares. I would really like to source a set of 17" 9 spokes if anyone knows of some around the M62 corridoor.

Good luck with the car Nick. I’m glad you’ve bought it as I know it’s in safe hands. Buying an old car back is a bit like stepping into a time machine. It must be a great feeling to be transported back 20years. Wish I could buy my Mk1 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S back, which I restored and drove in the 1980’s. Sadly it was stolen and never recovered and even if it could be found, prices have gone crazy. Good luck with the car.

Today I......bought another one to save ?

Well, it's for my eldest, fingers crossed we don't find too much wrong, oil service tomorrow and then a good clean ?

Nice to see an early one being kept on the road.

It's the same colour as my other and it does have a lot of bits I need too, however it's far too good to break. That's unless the cream under the cap is more than condensation (not too much) and the oil leak is a simple repair.

It's a really nice straight car so we will try our best. They're growing on me, especially at the 2 for £500 investment ?

Today I..... had a glass of red vine and suddenly I realized that it is less than 9 years until the first A2 can be registered as an Oldtimer.... ?

Over here that will result in - assuranse for 20% of regular, no road tax.....

Wonder if I should standardise on 2000 models.... to reduce waiting time ????

Cheers

Devastating discovery of missing jacking point cover this morning...I am very close to retracing my 15 mile journey home yesterday!
My moodiness isn’t been helped by the fact that no one else thinks this is a problem!!

It’s probably not worth a 999 call but I’d suggest it’s the A2 equivalent of a 111 level problem and that all members of the household should immediately stop what they’re doing and join the search. It’s not like they’ll have a lot on at present surely? The beauty of Netflix is you can watch it at any time!

Hi RobTT,
I feel your pain having lost my standard jacking point covers , I know more easily replaced but I would check any areas you drove through with deep standing water as I suspect this is where they get blown out by water pressure.
