Today I.....

Good idea, Alan. I'll copy my posts from this thread into the 'Rivnuts' thread, so that the information is easier to find in the future. :)

EDIT: Posts now copied across.

Many thanks,

Matt.

....yesterday, I changed summer wheels again. The 17" RS4 Style with low profile does not like potholes in city centre. Also crappy norwegian roads with bad surdaces from studded tires does not help on the directional stability either. I therefore opted for comfort, rather than looks.....as I have another car that's no compromise regarding that matter.

Wow, what a view from your house. I'll never get any work done if I lived there ;)

PS I've been to Oslo. Nice city, but visiting a capital city never gives a real feel for the country.

Not my house (my dad's and where I grew up to be a guy that likes A2's), more relaxing changing wheels there than on the streets of Oslo where I live (the capital of potholes).

Re Potholes. You have clearly not been to Manchester then!

Today I watched "the tunnel" on TV and saw an A2 being chased through the service tunnel - nice looking car - except for the now dinted rear end.

Well today i i felt the "whoosh" of turbo boost in the storm and i like it. Is it an upgrade no it was just a simple repair of the lower boost pipe detaching itself 102 miles from home last weekend. When you have no boost it really does make driving very slow. So I'm back smiling again. cheers mike

Today I had a screw removed from my n/s rear tyre and the slow puncture it caused repaired.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the drive to the garage and back; nippy and slick gear change, nimble handling, spirited capability of the FSI and the flow of air through the opensky and open windows. A sheer joy; the A2 is without a doubt a truly fine vehicle.

Today I... Laminated a repair patch over the typical crack in my door skin above the hinge. Pictures tomorrow when its hardened off and I can remove the release film.

7 plies each 0.2mm thick - needs tidying up around the edges when it's fully gone off and blowing over with paint but should hopefully stop the crack spreading.

You missed the bit about wind through you're hair Darren! Although I missed that some years ago lol

... found out how to get a good sound with iphone plugged to aux: switching off stupid iphone's volume level blocker and turning it up to one notch below max!
I was having Concert volume to 30 since I plugged the adapter and the sound was still thin, today it was bursting my ears on 15.

finally caught up on some sleep after a crazy work week involving karaoke in Helsinki, driving home at 3am (not dark!); drinks on a 9th floor pool terrace in Lisbon, an inflatable snake, and seeing way too many airports. Car did nicely in the pouring rain on the way home from the Airport Thursday and having OSS open in Helsinki on Friday was awesome :)

Sounds like a normal week to me :)

... changed my rear brake shoes. It was a PITA but they were down to the rivets (nearly). Nice to have a handbrake that doesn't go vertical.
