Today I.....

... swapped the buttons on my CC for A4 ones. Love the contrast between the charcoal facia and black buttons and obviously it's way better than that faded ****e I had before.

I keep finding this thread answering my questions.

Tonight i removed the inlet fuel rail flap piece. My flaps are free but im taking it into work tomorrow to clean it anyway.

Also sanded and polished one of my headlights.

...gave Django a good clean and a waxing. Nothing advanced. Just some degreaser, schampoo and then Turtle Wax. Also noticed that my front spoiler is quite chipped. But hey, it's beginning to be an old car. Not just to find something nice to use for all the black trim.

Before polishing the wax off.

...and after.

A friendly recommendation: Drive it to Germany.
Leave it to Audi for a day, rent a new Audi whichever for €40, have some beer, fill the car with 10kg sausages for the summer parties at your mountain house and forget about the engine light.

Is this a real possibility, letting Audi HQ work on a car?

Received my order of the great price FAG hubs which i posted about last week.

old ones showed no signs of play but after my recent hot hubs encounter (handbrake cable) i wanted to replace them for peace of mind.

Took off over a motorway bridge.. Honest

I almost lost my A2 on a motorway bridge yesterday. Exited M4 at J17 going east. Had to queue on the motorway to get off - always a nervous place to sit (luckily m-way had those large matrix signs showing queue ahead).

Queue edges up the ramp slowly as the visibility at the top is a bit obscured and there is heavy traffic on the roundabout. I'm in the left lane. Get to the top and stop on the line when suddenly a car in the right lane (I wont mention the driver's gender!) shots past and stops with the vehicle well into the roundabout. Then notice a big white Audi bearing down at about 50 mph. He just managed to swerve and miss the car - luckily his offside lane was clear and he was alert. Phew! I'm sure any smash and I would have been collateral damage.

I don't know, that's a long trip from here, but some Audi Zentrum in northern Germany. I do mine in Lübeck and Flensburg.
there's a decent one in Hamburg, as well; I had a decent experience here https://www.google.com/maps/place/A...3231147cf428d65!8m2!3d53.5488021!4d10.0326258 and it was recommended by others on the German forum. They'll also work 24/7 if necessary. They broke the ABS ring removing the front bearing, didn't have one in stock and it appeared at 1900 that evening, apparently. Was ready the following morning at 0730.

€600 or so for one front and one rear bearing fitted isn't too bad at all compared to here.

Whilst fiddling with the door connector I noticed there was a rattle from the front wing. Fought the rear of the arch liner away and a huge lump of plastic dropped out - the wing has had a thump at some point and the piece of plastic was originally locating one of the liner fixings.

Simon.

Finally got round to cleaning the car. Parked under a tree at work yesterday and a bird, or possibly many birds, unloaded themselves all over it. That bird may have been very sick, or has possible died based on the carnage.

You can't compare the prices, but that's nat the main reason I do the service there, it's the quality and reliability. Just had my A3 in for the EU control (MOT?) at the local service, they found the rear calipperes shound be replaced, well that's alright, if I didn't have to return 3 times to have them pump the air out of the system...

Changed the motor torque arm / dog bone for a Febi Bilstein part meant for a Polo. PnP once you swapped over the A2 mounting bracket.

Today I got my service items delivered
