Today I.....

Today I paid for my first A2 ๐Ÿ˜ just have to wait until Tuesday for it to be delivered. In all honesty I'd not seen one up close until i saw the gathering at Stanford Hall and spoke to Ian @Proghound. So I've gone from no idea about them to having one on the way in a month. Looking forward to the highs and lows!

Congratulations Steve! Glad if I had something to do with it - I hope your new acquisition proves to be reliable and enjoyable :) Looking forward to seeing some photos and hopefully seeing you and it at a future social.

I caught the A2 bug at Stanford Hall in 2019, in my case, it was Mike, @a2sumo who got me interested.
Mac.

Could I ask what drop links did you use, I see you mention โ€˜bmwโ€™ ones?

Iโ€™ve fitted adjustable ones from eBay and Iโ€™m still getting knocking from the ARB and one has popped from the ball joint already so not up to the job
I fitted these to my standard set up.
Great quality with slots to counter hold the spindle

Only had fitted a few months so not able to comment on longevity but going by the build quality and attention to detail they appear to be the best drop links i have ever fitted!

I fitted a new wiper blade to Audrey today as part of a general check-up. I'm reminded just how much better genuine Audi blades are in terms of the quantity and quality of rubber you get on the blade compared with the aftermarket one that came off! There really is a big difference - and the old blade was becoming increasingly unfit for purpose as it was smearing water in heavy rains rather than wiping clear with one stroke like the new one does. I'd had the new blade "in stock" for a long time but kept forgetting to change it once I'd noticed the old one's performance falling off.

One of those small but immensely satisfying jobs, because along with the screen wash being topped up, the car is now demonstrably better for it now it's done! I shall actively look forward to driving in the wet now!

Also went around and gave the thing a thorough hoover, although some particles remain trapped in the velcro-like carpet in the boot that my rotary brush-head hoover attachment from the car valet kit I use cannot easily remove - Does anyone have any tips for these?

On valet videos I watch to send to me to sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด I see a hammer drill attachment and hoover combo that beats the carpet bouncing the dirt into a jumping puddle like water on a beating drum, then hoover sucks it up. God I'm a sad sad man

To really correctly compare quality of the wiper blades you need to compare them NEW. Not a used wiper blade with a new Audi ;).
I have just replaced 14 years old genuine Audi wiper blade with a new Bosch AR70N and the difference was just enourmous. But after this I do not make a conclusion that a genuine Audi wiper blade is of a lower quality in comparison to Bosch ;). Because the problem was the age and the use ;).
Here you can see how Bosch wipes the window:

You can see the thickness of the rubber used on the genuine part is much more generous. To be clear, the old one Iโ€™m sure has done many years of good service - but itโ€™s clear upon comparison with a genuine one that itโ€™s not as well made.

So what make is the old one?
