Last Saturday I installed rear speakers. With that done speaker upgrade project is completed and I like the sound.
Next I have to upgrade the amplifier, as these speakers are 125w rms and the current amp is "only" 70w per channel. :D
PreviousIy, I wanted to retrofit rear electric windows, but now the space where the door control modules/motors would be mounted is used for the crossovers.

I was given these on Saturday, I might look at utilising them if they are an improvement over standard, that said I’m quite happy with standard speaker setup.

Today I got my RNS-E fully sorted with my preferred firmware. The navigation maps (with full UK postcode) are now on SD, and everything seems to work as intended.

I bought my RNS-E 103PU through the market here last month. I had a prior appointment with Tom and Ian at Leighton Buzzard, and rather to my surprise Tom was able to get the unit installed and running on top of everything else I already had booked. However the upgraded firmware I had anticipated did not appear to have been installed, and the was no navigation media whatever.

So I started off buying the latest genuine Audi DVD covering the UK off eBay. That worked as intended, and got me started. Next, I downloaded the latest alternative firmware from pcbbc, and started working my way through the instructions at both https://rnse.pcbbc.co.uk/ and http://www.navpoint.co.uk/ . The SD card that came with the unit may not have had any map files, but it did have a license key for the feature pack I needed.

Today I've got the firmware update written to CD, and successfully installed, which was the final step, since I'd previously used the navPOInt software to write the map info to SD, with the benefit of some extra tweaks. So (slightly to my surprise) it all seemed pretty painless in the end, and the navigation certainly works well.

Big thanks to @timmus @Proghound @Giraffe and @Erlingtheyounger for making all this possible.

Today I had my A2, affectively called the vajmobile due to its original number plate, scanned for its EML light. We found EGR sensor and lamda sensor were at fault.

Probably due to the first continuous run it’s ever had (160 miles first go). Recommendation is to keep an eye on it and if EML comes back we will go thru the EGR module to check it’s all correct for wiring first.

On a separate note I would love to hear what people have done with their sound systems. Original? Modded? Crazily modded? Is there a thread for this ?

lovely! what is the rest of your audio set up?
Jbl Club 704 4 channel amplifier
Audison Voce k6 speakers
Jbl Club A1 Mono amp
Pioneer 12" subwoofer, ported box
1F capacitor
Sound deadening (doors only)

I think those would sound better than the factory ones, but I'm biased :D.
To install front speakers you need a set of adapters, but the only set of adapters for an A2 speakers that I know of are these and they don't fit.
Attached photo are those exact ones modified in order to fit front doors mounting plate 8Z0837849 and give room to check strap end.
After modifications I've done on my sound system it sure was a slippery slope, but a fun one :).
