Today I.....

I’ve not seen or heard of another Piedmont red 90 other than mine since I first looked at the A2 roughly 3 years ago, so it’s unlikely many more exist in the U.K. George. Rare indeed.
It’s a lovely colour and I think it really suits the A2

Today I fixed heat shields on two of the fleet. As you can see this is Frank (lol) one of the yellow CS

Today was a quick oil and filter change. Also found there to be a bit of oil around the egr valve so that may need a little investigation.
An old fashion set of ramps are very handy for getting under for the sump plug
These make life so much easier.

Audi specify a different gearbox oil in the six speed so the one for the A2 is not used. The point I was making is OEM is always the way to go and if not it must be to at least Audi spec.
Not wishing you labour the point, but .....

Sorry do not see what you are trying to say. I made it quite clear in the post you quote that Genuine is best but if not then to have some that at least meets the spec of Audi. What you have posted is to Audi spec so fail to see even the point of posting it.

The only point I am making is initially you said it had to be "Audi" oil. Then you said it had to be "atleast Audi spec".
I've pointed out to you Audi does not make oil, and many makers make oil to Audi/VW spec, be it engine or gear oil.
Thank you.

I recently.got some ramps, sadly haven't found a way to drive on them with them skidding away 😀
Might be hard to explain without a photo, in which case I'll post one tomorrow.
If you have any old carpet, cut 2 pieces the width of your ramp rails, and about 2 ft long.
Fold it in half around your bottom ramp rail and if possible attach together ( I had some old large leatherwork rivets), although possibly not strictly necessary.
That way as you drive towards your ramp your tyre will be on the carpet which prevents your ramp from sliding away.
Done it this way for years without problem.
Hope that helps.

I put two blocks of concrete which are coping for a brick wall. I need them to raise the front a little or the bumper gets caught. They've not skidded away yet but may add the carpet suggested above.
The other challenge is finding them after the kids have taken them and used the for jumps for their bikes.

I got you guys on the ramp-issue
I'd spent a lot of time researching for the most useable one, as most of the ramps are angled in a way, that the front of the A2's bumper gets caught.
These Katsu ramps do a great job, it's a bit longer than other ramps though, but it's necessary for the bumper not to touch, it's also detachable for easier storage. I'd the A2 on it for half-a-day and was absolutely solid, it also has threaded surface for easier drive up.
You might find cheaper deals than Amazon, just search for Katsu ramps, there are different ones though, so make sure to check size: L 915 X W 310 X H 215 mm, also it'd detachable too. Only complain could be, it's not as high as most ramps, there's enough room to change the airfilter without issues, I also park on a bit steep surface, so that helps even more.

Today I done the deal on this lovely low mileage Tdi, 67k from new, been stored in a garage it's whole life, has every piece of paperwork from new and has only ever been worked on by the main dealers Glasgow Audi 😍

It needs the brakes and rear springs replaced but these were supplied with the car and are also genuine Audi parts.

My question is do I leave it as is as a survivor car and put it into storage with the parts to repair at a later date or do I replace the bits and get it mot'd 🤔
