Just a quick heads up for the Bank holiday Sunday at Stanley Park Blackpool.

A nice few hours stroll around on the Sunday. Would be good if there were several A2's parked up on the way in. Then a drive down the prom past the tower to the windmill into Lytham via St Anne's.
Plenty of good Fish & Chip shops along the way.
Just a reminder for tomorrow. Stanley Park Blackpool.
If anyone is looking for something to do and a few hours to kill.
Hopefully the weather will be kind.

Today & just finished, I replaced the Cam cover & all hydraulic lifters on the 1.4 AUA , put it all back together 6 hours work, the engine is now silent.
This is the 1.4 petrol sold to @neil o , you can see in pictures 2 & the cause of the tappety noise. the lifters were also eaten away, as per the camshaft shiny parts in pictures.

Reset the gear links post oil change and trying to find a squeek in the tunnel.

M5 bolt works fine to lock the selector in the home position.

I found the best method was to 1-take the tension off the link clips
2-home the gearbox
3-home the selector lever
4-release the springs to resecure the links
5-unhome the selector and box

I got a set off eBay recently. Used but all OK. Expect up to £100
Bargain,
I swapped all 16 lifters, the cam cover & the all 16 valve rocker arms from the quite engine over,
though the problem was actually The cam shafts the shiny parts as per pictures, however, I am left with a whole lot Hydraulic lifters & valve rocker arms to sell on.
Not sure if the old cam cover has any value with the doggy shafts though.

Hello all,

Today I got the Furnitures Clinic product out again:

To recolour these:

Which I think turned out just right for a certain Jaipur Red A2 with a beautifully contrasting Soul interior:

Hello Erling,

Yes a good day for it indeed. I’ve been busy here filling a skip with the weed garden to make way for the long awaited patio and also cladding the extension and garage all at the same time. With todays weather putting outside tasks off I thought it a nice enhancing little treat to myself with the extended weekend. The cladding and patio can wait until tomorrows extra day off.

Kind regards,

Tom

Haha, hello Edd,

I feel your pain Sir. I’m still yet to finish off digging down to lay type 1 before a decent bed of mortar for the slabs. Your progress is looking good so far though.

Kind regards,

Tom
I laid the type one nearly two years ago, "got to let it settle I told the mrs" I knew the pain was coming one day, those slabs and bending and squatting meant I could walk up stairs for a day after 😆

Got round to sorting Tonka out from his near death experience with the Cotswold stone wall.

Fortunately for me, this along with a punctured front tyre, was the only damage but it could have been much much worse.

As ever @A2Steve came to the rescue with a pair of metallic black mirrors. These are a different black to the existing solid black ones so both needed changing. I initially intended to swap the entire units but in the end elected to just swap the caps.

Whilst doing this though I managed to drop one of my heated mirrors 🤬

Fortunately for me, it was one I’d intended to change anyway as seemed to have delaminated. Also not convinced it was a genuine mirror having looked at the back?

I had a spare waiting to be fitted so job done 👍
