Thats not an aerial Dave, it activates the reserve fuel tank. A few turns of the indiscreet key and away it goes. Looks almost a factory fitted option to me.

Today I visited my local dealer but on two wheels this time instead of four
Today I........ reset the 'torsion' value for the injection timing.
I'd just finished replacing the cambelt in time for last Sunday's Temple Newsham social and on the drive down to Leeds felt the engine was a bit noisy and not as smooth as it was before.
I'd double checked the timing after turning the engine over by hand and refitting the locking tools so was comfortable everything was basically OK - but somehow not set up as good as it had been....... then I remembered an old post by Luftube highlighting this article - http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/c...lue-adjustment-on-vw-and-audi-pd-tdi-engines/
I checked the setting with VCDS and found the value was + 4.8 so with a bit of trial and error got this down to about 0.5 (the actual reading wavered between 0 and 0.5)
The engine immediately sounded sweeter so hopefully a road test will confirm the improvement.
Only tricky bit was removing the to cambelt cover to do the adjustment.
Cheers Spike
PS. Should have also said..... Today I ...... reflected on what a great job Hillary and the team had done in organising last weeks event
