Today I.....

To all you super cleaners and part time detailers.
What is the best way to remove the build up of green moss & licin that gets into window rubbers and those tiny areas?
I don't want to use a power wash if possible and nothing that might damage or scratch the paintwork.
The long wet winter hasn't helped on both cars.
A good APC (All Purpose Cleaning), a soft detailer brush and on the rubber seals Gummy Pflege πŸ‘

Super cheap option.
Clear Vinegar not the stuff you douse chips with.
A medium or soft toothbrush to agitate or organic matter.
Leave it to sit for a minute. Put the hose pipe on a super low spray speed and work the muck out from between the joints.
Wash the whole car with shampoo. Not head and shoulders

Not everyday you see two white A2's parked next to one another.

It was a real pleasure to meet Lee and his lovely Ibis white A2 and drop his spare wheel kit off to him πŸ‘

Morning Iain,

Looking good! Who doesn’t love a white A2. I was so close to purchasing one recently but a certain second Jaipur Red got in the way of the deal.

Maybe one day I’ll have such a rare colour on my driveway.

Kind regards,

Tom

After seeing someone else in one of the groups do it, I decided to "upgrade" my multimedia using a cheap 8" tablet to interface with the Sony aftermarket stereo. Setup Agama car launcher as the shell on the tablet. Works pretty well and the Bluetooth connection works well for audio, satnav etc.. Tablet use a 4G SIM card for it's data
Aim was to make it interchangable with my phone. So it sits in a std clamshell phone mount (top of clamshell holds onto "popcap" on rear of tablet rather than top edge of tablet)
Only thing I still need to sort is ignition controlled power supply on dash and an app like "automate it" to hopefully power the tablet on/off based on the status of the USB power

Does it affect the view at all? I was looking at something similar but not a tablet it’s slimmer in height. Only thing with the one I’m looking at will need to be powered

Originally I tried an old Dell tablet I had lying around but that was way too big and obscured the view (10.5")
This I think is ok but will trial it over the next few days. I really want to keep the clamshell phone holder if possible so it's interchangeable with my phone. But I have also ordered a tablet mount as well so that it I find it's too high up when driving I could change the phone mount for the tablet one and that would allow the tablet to overhang a bit by the air vents so wouldn't sit as high overall

Hello all,

I know it’s not generally recommended to purchase a vehicle when the MOT is about to expire but… Just had Project EYV inspected and passed without issue (which both Neil @nee777.a2 and I expected/suspected):

The vehicle is also now wearing its previously removed cherished number plate:

Hopefully I’ll get some time over the weekend to add to the new project thread.

Kind regards,

Tom

Today my FSI got a clean pass, no advisories :) I had worried that the EML would come on again during the trip out to the start of season meal last weekend and cost me effectively the MOT fee again to get it turned out. But bless her she's been as good as gold so far (you watch, it'll surely stay on at the next startup now!) I'm approaching the 2000 mile mark in my ownership. For the first few months, my mileage was zero over winter 2022/23, then other than a trip to WOM and back, she's really only been to our 2023 socials. I guess we were a busy Club last year!
