Today I.....

... woke up too early and just found out that my cars options are funny...
A2 and one A3 has 8Z5 = Not hot country, while the other A3 has 8Z7 = Cold country :)
Do they have different air condition systems?
I remember looking for parts for my dads 2010 A3 on partsbase. I was looking at the pages with the cooling system (radiator etc) and saw some different options there for hot and cold country. The heating system was in other words also on those pages.

Bought another A2 2001 petrol. Together with a friend. This car had had it's oil level sensor replaced and then not properly refitted. Oil had leaked out and the car had been ran without oil. Thus a broken motor. Will try to see how bad it is and then change the whole lump if it's needed. Project thread in the future.

Fiddly, but can be done. It won't be on as tight as using a proper socket set, but it is more than secure enough. Amazing how much dirt manages to get wedged underneath it too.

Happy to help out when you are next in town/at the next social we both make.

Glad to hear that Darren, that's one job I never accomplished in my ownership mate!
I need to do my storm one too!!
Cheers Jeff

That's a bummer. We have a Like button, maybe we need a Commiserations button as well! Hope it is not too expensive to fix.

I'm about to get my oil sensor fixed - I shall warn the garage of what can happen ;)

......today I'm back after at few days at an old barn. I good drive 180 miles each way...on nice roads with little or no traffic.
Enginelamp is now on - which means I have some emission problems? Only three months since I had new catalytic converter and the exhaust pipe in front of it fitted.....so it must/should be something else.

That Logo looks amazingly similar to Tony's company logo he has just posted.

Someone should have a word with A2 Club Deutschland!!!! They have copied Tony's logo. (Sorry that this comment was taken seriously) It was a tongue in cheek comment that was not meant to be taken seriously, but I realise my "humour" could be misunderstood.
The fact that A2Cars has just posted their draft (and not used) logo and the fact that the German Club logo has been around for many years I did not think it could be taken as a serious comment. Sorry if I have caused any offence.

Ha, Steve you beat me to it, I just posted the same thing on the 'Evolution' thread!

Anyway, today I got the first chance to witness the glorious Webasto fire up and send some wonderful diesel fumes into the air. A cold snap iced all the cars, and since WOM have put it back in order and the thermostat and sensor replaced, the car warmed up very quickly and the screen cleared the fastest I've ever seen.

Unfortunately the rest of the family did not seem to share my celebration of a 2 degrees morning, but I thought I'd have to wait until next winter!

... saw at least Fiat 500s, but not one Audi A2...in Washington DC...

I asked around some people who know. I know a little myself, but it's always interesting to follow up some details.
The original logo was created by one of the guys in the German forum - Frido, who set up one of the original UK group meets at NSU while they were still producing A2s. I'm sure there are a couple of people still around who were there.
This is back in around 2003; it's been around since I have (and I joined that forum in October 2003, 6 months after this one). The logo has survived three different platforms and several VBulletin upgrades, is a favicon - if you're not using https - and is also now in SVG format on the Wiki.
So: no, the German club were first, and by quite some distance. Or at least that's how I see 10 years previously... ;)

Hi Bret,

Yes, I fully agree.

The fact that A2Cars were explaining that this is their NEW logo meant that there could be no thought of their logo being copied by the German club, especially since they have used theirs for many years. I have admired it many times over the years, very modern in appearance and very professional too.

I am sorry that my attempt at humour was so badly worded.

Thanks

.....today the doorhinge started making this "familiar" cracking noice. I had the same problem og my former A2 - so it's an easy fix...... And yesterday I spotted a Koenigsegg - CCXR with 1018 BHP on e85 biofuel (my son in the foreground, the "egg" inn the middle and the real star in the background. I also spotted another red colour storm for the first time - opposite direction on the highway - so no pix.View attachment 23737
