Certainly willing to give it a go as i can see those still on sale new OEM for a tenner. Same size connection into the washer jet?

yup thats the issue - I'm not convinced the connection into the actual jet is the same. If you look at the picture above it looks bigger than the pipe size connectors which are 4mm

I think I've also realised that the middle section on the OEM tpiece is likely a one way non return valve....I think I'll try and find a 2nd hand one Graham!

Another way is to replace the "T" with the "Y" and also fit a second large end "L" to the right washer jet. A short length of pipe would be required to join one arm of the "Y" to the new large "L" on the washer jet.

Plenty of generic Y or T fittings available also lots of generic large end L is not going for another Audi one.
