Worn tdi shifter tower fix needed

My A2 have a wobbly worn gear shift tower on original EWQ gearbox so sometimes it's hard to change gear. Is there a newer replacement or rebuild recipe know to fix this? It would be a shame to change whole gearbox just for faulty shifter as rest of it is working fine.

Shifter is not part of the gearbox. I would start with diagnosing what is causing the problems. Probably worn bushing, but you can't say until you at least disassemble shifter tower trims. Find the faulty part.

Maybe I called it wrong. English is not my first language, sorry. It's not the stick in cabin, it's the mechanism on gearbox that selects gears. I can see clear wobble from outside. Is shifter tower in any way serviceable?

Here is link on not my video, but the issue is the same.

The tower unbolts, remove gear linkage and the reverse light switch, two bolts hold it on. the bearing and seal are changeable. Parts were available from Audi, I've not checked recently....
