Don't think it matters what you arrive in so these events are a great place for potential A2 owners or 'work in progress' owners to come and chat.
Poorly cars are also welcome as there is usually a laptop or two around for a diagnostic scan - and with a bit of forward planning, an upgrade or two may even be possible

Cheers Spike
Was great to see you last year at the Yorkshire Social Spike and would be lovely if you could make it again

I can probably beat you for filth. My poor little A2 hasn't been washed since January!
It also lives by the side of the A3220, so when it's wet, one side gets plastered by traffic. When it's fine, poor little thing gets covered in sap and pollen.

Everyone is welcome at this social

and ... Come on all you Yorkshire/Lancashire/Derbyshire/East Coast members - a great opportunity to attend a social a bit nearer for you this time

Well guys been given the heads up in regards to this as i don't get on here much now. Logan is very much into planes etc.. now this will be great for him and for me to have a catch up with members new and old. I may try to get my brother to come along to (none A2 member) he does love looking around these places.

Cheers Phil

Well guys it will just be me and Logan. Cheryl's working and my brother will be in Scotland that weekend.

Murdo yes its been too long since i've seen you guys i think Logan will be getting fed up with me saying hi to old friends, he'll just want to go look at planes or around the other A2's (he a petrolhead)

Hopefully no illness to prevent you coming this time mate. Too long...

Yes mate absolutly gutted last time, couldn't believe it when i got up and nearly fell over. I suffer from this once every couple of years so i tend to have tablets in date but that time i didn't have any. so suffered all day till i could get some.

Hopefully this time it doesn't rear its head and your medicine cabinet is stocked up. Be good to see you.

Can I just check whether anyone has booked themselves a hotel for this yet please? I've had a look and most places seem booked up, within the close vicinity. So far, I've narrowed it down to a holiday inn express just north of york or a best western about an hour away in Driffield?

Here's an update which may help with the accommodation...

Last weekend we did a recce of three pubs around the area of the Yorkshire Air Museum but in the end decided the best place to go for our early evening meal would be the pub we chose for last year's Yorkshire social. Hopefully, those who attended would agree it was a good choice with lovely food, welcoming atmosphere and they were very flexible with a large group. So we have a reserved area from 6pm in the 'Fox & Grapes' on the Leeds side of York. LS15 4NJ.

The drive from Yorkshire Air Museum to the pub is about 15 miles along a direct route, dual carriageway which makes it easier to keep the group together.

Afterwards, for those who need to head home on the Saturday evening, the A1 is easily accessible as well as other motorway networks around Leeds.
Hope that gives more options for accommodation.

Thank you to all members already signed up on this social and anyone else considering will be very welcome too.

Hilary

Yes, we’ll be there! Apologies, but been offline for a while. My partner had a bit of an accident they day after we came back from a couple of weeks in Crete! He’s okay now, but the cars a write off. Not the A2 fortunately, but the 9 week old SEAT!!

Sorry to hear Peter. I hope your partner is on the mend with no lasting problems.

Look forward to meeting you both.

Darren

I haven’t looked yet, but the Best Western in Driffield is The Bell isn’t it? I’ve stayed in Hotel 41 in Driffield, which was excellent, especially for the price! Will take a look tonight...will be in Scarborough Friday night, so not a million miles away. There’s a Best Western in Pickering as well I think?

Edited to correct the name of the hotel.. Hotel 41 in Driffield, not Hotel 42!!

Thanks Darren - a broken leg which has been pinned and so should be fine! Internal bleeding and a lot of bruising, but again time will heal that too.
