Another one bites the dust...

What a shame and my favorite colour too. I didn't realise that was Pine green, I just referred to them as the same colour green that mine is blue! I used to drive past one nearly everyday in Ware, Herts, but it seems to have disappeared recently.

Is this one a possible base car to start with? or too basic?

So, so tempted, but so as not to be penalised left, right and centre it really needs to be a petrol, not a diesel. The joys of living in London.
But never say never! A lot depends on how much the insurance company say my car was worth. If it’s over £1000 (look! The second flying pig of the day) then I may succumb, but I suspect I’ll be lucky to get £700

Very sorry to see this, hope your ok, hope you'll get speedy payout. Where in London are you?

Best wishes
Sarge

As to the specifications, apart from being a diesel it’s almost identical-but £1000 more than I paid for mine in September

Yes,

But TDIs are dearer and this one looks in really nice condition (not that yours wasn't after your work.

The T-Charge is an issue of course.

With Ian's work it would cost him a small fortune to run a Diesel with all the running around London he does :)

So, my little green A2 is no more.
T boned by a council refuse wagon who pulled out of a side road onto Kensington High street, hit the offside, pushed me into the kerb bending the rear axle on the nearside, and spinning the car 90 degrees.
The B post has been pushed in about an inch, the insurance company have already declared it a write off.
I don't have so much as even a scratch on me, thanks to the strength of our favourite little cars.
I'll be in the market for another A2 as soon as I get the insurance payout...

Soooo sorry to here about this, main thing is you are OK, the aluminium box can be replaced, your health cannot
I have to add it is a lot of trouble to go to in order to rectify a random misfire :) only joking of course

I assume you are wanting to replace with another 1.4 petrol, I will keep my eyes peeled for you, Aircon is a must, false floor is easily retro fitted as is cruise control.

Keep your chin up mate
Cheers,

The daft part was, after I left St Anne’s, no more misfire! Sea air must have done it good!
It was a little strange driving a badly crabbing A2 100 yards up the road to a residents parking bay where it’s still languishing.
I think I may just swap back to the old wiper arm and wiper before they collect the car tomorrow. Saves having to buy another if the replacement is an early one.

Chin is up

Another Island green £1,000 recent recon engine Berkshire.

This is one I spotted earlier this evening also, and might arrange to go and view.

Currently the black one extremely local to me and very cheap with a few problems I can easily fix is holding a lot of appeal. I could get it up and running in next to no time for very little money and a trip to eurocarparts for a couple of Bosch bits...
