Automatic light + Coming / Leaving home

With the switch in the auto position and when it is dark, you will get the noise, so perhaps it wasn't on?

No just checked a few times tonight.

With the switch in Auto when I stop and turn the car off the headlights go off and then turn back on because it's dark. If I the get out you get the buzzer.

If you pull up stop turn engine off the lights come back on. I then turned ignition back on and off again and the lights go out and no warning buzzer when you get out. When I then armed the remote locking I get the coming home lights activate as they should.

So on mine at least I have worked out to defeat the buzzer at night so now I am well pleased can leave it in Auto all the time and if I don't want the buzzer just flick ignition on and off.

Anyone else tried this to see if it works on there A2?

I'm going to get another one to stick on my allroad as well, turning the lights on myself is so tiresome

I would be pleased to try on mine, but after reading you post several times, it's still not clear to me what's the procedure to follow... (sorry English is not my mother language)

This is an aftermarket kit that costs very little and provides a couple of great functions, so I can forgive it for this issue.
Sure, I see it like this too. I'm more than happy with the services this little kit offers :)

When I leave the indicators stalk not centered, the "dipped beam" lights come one, not only the parking lamps as it does before fitting the autolights kit.
Does this also happen with yours ?

I don't believe it does, but you have the headlamps as the coming home lamps I think? I have the fog lamps.

I think that it mentions somewhere that the new kit changes this feature and instead of it just lighting up the dude/tail lights on the one side, both will illuminate even though the indicator stalk is only suppose to cause one side to illuminate.
i will check to see exactly what happens on mine later.

Yes I've tried this and it works :) when you have stopped, turn the ignition off the on and of again and the lights go off, get out close and lock the car and the home lights come on :) that's solved the getting out of the car problem :) thanks!

I checked and in my case, if you leave the indicator stalk in the left or right position BOTH the left and right side and tail lights illuminate (and no headlights or fog lights).

My coming home lights operate using the fogs and so this may be relevant.

Yes, I have the headlamps. Maybe I should try to change the jumper to have the fogs instead, but I'm not sure, I like the larger amount of light of the headlamps when i's dark.

for me, it's both left and right and both front and rear.

I have some decent LED bulbs in my fogs and they are as bright as the standard headlamp bulbs.

They don't trigger a "bulb out" warning either, the Fogs are not part of the bulb check.

Hi Steve,
Care to share which led bulbs you have for the fogs as I'd like to upgrade my old bulbs!
Cheers Jeff

I have the same fitted in my fogs too. A much whiter light. They look great and give a very clear view of the road.

I also have LED's in my fogs, but they are everything but decent :(
Not very bright, too blue-ish, ... But considering how much I paid for them, that's not a steal either :) At that time, I didn't know that they could be useful as "coming home" lights. I should have bought something more decent.

Glad it works for someone else I thought it was just me.

Now I need to retro fit some fog lights and change my coming home lights to them.

It works for me too.
At first, I thought you were talking of a trick to disable the buzzing sound every time. Now I understand, you have to do it each time you want to avoid the buzzing sound :)
Cheers,
Fabrice
