FSD group buy

And I think Audi fitted possibly over-stiff springs to the A2 (to reduce the Mercedes A-class issue of higher potential to roll over), and certainly the wrong dampers in any case as Schnelltrecker says.

That's where I got mine from. Ordered at 12:30 and were delivered 9.00am the next day. Excellent service.

I couldn't find anywhere cheaper in the UK that had them in stock and would guarantee next day delivery.

Yeah I think that's about as cheap as it gets in the UK at the moment. Ooooh, decision time...

As a matter of interest how many of you have the Koni FSD's springs and damper package fitted now and how have you been finding them, i.e ride comfort and roll etc. Are they intelligent or is that just a gimmick?

Thanks

Ian

Hello,

FSD is a well working feature!

There are many FSD-reports here and in the German A2-forum. Please do a forum search... :)

The following link for instance shows a summary of some known FSD Audi A2-applications in Europe (including UK):

http://www.a2-freun.de/forum/showthread.php?t=31539

So mostly the FSD shocks have been combined with standard height springs for maximum comfort increase (Audi stock or sport edition springs or SPIDAN springs). Lowering of about 20 to 30 mm is achieved by the recommedable WEITEC or ABT sport springs.

Well just ordered myself a set of FSDs from POTN, let's see what happens next!

Now to order all the other ancillary parts, and organise the Weitecs...

Blimey I'm jealous  I'll get FSD's eventually, but anytime soon and Fi will show me the door and have Ada on eBay! She might even threaten me with the Mazda 2 again

Was going to PM you about it Phil. Should be with you soon as its being leased through Lloyds TSB, and delivery is due in the next 2 - 4 weeks. So look out for an Ibis White Sportback Black Edition with some nice toys and let me know if you spot her/him! :D

PS Sorry - this thread is about FSD's!

Weitec has new springs for the A2:s?

I posted this in another thread but as a few messages here indicate you are picking up the parts now you might want to check out weitec.de. Looks to me as they have changed the models and you might risk coming home with old [stocked] items.

Here's what I read:
30/0 and 30/30 are for the 1,2l
35/0 and 35/30 are for the 1,4l/1,6l (also petrol flavour)

I guess the 35/30 is good news for the discussed high-nose-result of the FSD.

A thing that comes to mind is if the 30/0 (now stated for the 1,2) is also an option for the 1,4 if one would want the better loading capability without getting that much V (nose down) when traveling empty.

Thanks for every informative post about the suspension at the A2OC. That's what make this website a real treasure.

I've still to order mine, but all the other stuff should be here tomorrow bump stops, nuts, bolts and ARB thought i may aswell fit this at the same time

Cheers Phil

PS Robert thanks for the PM but a week to late

I'm collecting my ancilliary parts tomorrow from Fontain(strut mounts, bump stops etc) and the Weitecs next week hopefully. Now I've just got to find a mechanic around my area who is trustworthy enough to do the job.

News - FSDs going on on Wednesday - should I go Weitec 30/30, or 30/00? I have the 30 rear springs but I don't necessarily need to install them!

Bear in mind I have two kids who regularly travel in the back of the car which means the boot is often then full of ancilliary child-related clutter...

Well, these are my recommendations for optimised looks when applying Koni FSD shocks:

Hey Dan just read what alanm posted about when fitted bike rack he's gone straight back to 00 on the rear, thats the way i'm going as big dog in the back

With the original Audi rear springs fitted I now have no probs re grounding of rear mud flaps with my towball mounted bike rack fitted.

The 'sit' of the car also looks way more acceptable. Even with nowt in the boot when I had the Weitec minus 30mm springs fitted to the rear, the stance of the car looked as though it was well loaded down. My son suggested it looked like a dog squatting and straining for a 'dump'.

With the original springs back on the ride comfort is better and the handling very nearly the same as with Weitecs all round.

To avoid running the risk of having to lash out for your original rear springs to be refitted (cost me £40+ for this) I'd strongly recommend having your original rear springs used in your FSD upgrade.
