Often while doing a scan with VCDS I have seen the message 'Labels.Redir Failed' and assumed there was no communication with the particular module.
I then found this on the Ross Tech web site - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Control_Module_Maps
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/labels.html
If we start supplying the info requested would this improve the diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities of VCDS on our A2's.
Is anyone interested in having a go and if so, should we collate the info to avoid duplicating results

Cheers Spike

PS just checked the A2 specific page and its definitely lacking in content - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Audi_A2_(8Z)

I got that message too, for the ABS module, so I created my own label file for it.

I have also adapted the existing label file for the AMF ECU module, as parts were wrong and created one for the convenience unit as there wasn't one.

I still have some work to do on them, for example adding in the basic settings info for the module reading fields.

After just getting the engine management light appear late last night, had just ordered the Ross Tech VCDS HEX-USB (CAN). :D

Thought it worth while seeing as both my father and I now have A2's and my brothers girlfriend has a Seat!!!

I've got the full HEX-CAN USB from RossTech too.

Happy to help anyone needing scanning/coding, although still learning myself!

I'm near Junc 3, M25

Can anyone provide the Vagcom settings for the left indicator within vagcom? I somehow change the left indicator settings when I was resetting the service indicator The leftside indicator now indicates once and then switches off. It may be the same as the right but just want to double check if and when anyone hooks it up to your car.
Cheers

Im pretty sure VAG COM / VCDS cant alter the flashing of the indicators.

That is governed by the flasher unit, which has two relays one for right and one for left.

Your flasher unit is probably on the way out, so get a replacement.

It lives behind the storage tray / aircon unit in the centre console.

That’s correct. It is the flasher relay unit, which controls the left and right indicators. It just so happened directly after having the VAG COM connected to the car, to remove the service light and directly afterwards the indicators started to fail. Putting 2 +2 =5, Confused me at first with the Hazard warning lights working ok? But a search of ElsaWin showed the two systems are controller by separate relay units having relay unit for the hazards and a relay unit for the indicators. I've just replace the relay unit and removed some of the skin off my hands too! 'not much room to work in' and all's working fine. Took 20 minutes. Audi part No : 8z0-941-509-B Cost £37.50 but VW sell them for a £1 less !!
Remove the radio with keys. pull out
Remove the heat/climet control unit pulls out
Remove the small storage box. pulls out.
unscrew the ash tray and pull out.
the relay is the long black one directly behind the heater unit held in place by two spring clips. Unplug it and push it out having pressed the srings in. Or if you cant get it out leav it in and just plugh the new unit in and tuck behind the back.

Hi All,

Fully licenced VAG-COM Hex+CAN in Stockport / North Wales areas :)

I am having a little website done too, I'm hoping to get all Vag-COM users pinned on it from ALL forums :)

I thought I'd already posted to this thread, but obviously not.

Full and genuine VCDS on the Northants/Leics boarder (close to M1 J18 - Crick)

Cheers
