Running update:
Fuel economy on a run at 90kph (55mph) is over 100mpg.
Fuel economy around town is another matter... around 60mpg
But this is only since I put the winter tyres on so I'm hoping that a lot of that is down to the tyres. We'll see over time I guess. The Lupo 3L is better around town on fuel but it's lighter and has slightly smaller tyres - meaning that the gearing is lower.
My second set of wheel trims have arrived from Germany and they're largely in better condition than my original set, so I'll probably swap over some parts between them to make up a summer and winter set and then they can go on.
Before I do that however, the wheels currently on the Lupo 3L have had wheel trims fitted before and so are scratched where the wheel trim fixings sit. The set that are on the A2 now have no damage at all, so I'll swap the tyres over putting the good set on the Lupo 3L ready for sale.
In deciding to use the Recaro leather seats that I've had in my Lupo 3L into the A2 3L, I had to find replacements for the Lupo!... so here they are.
Black recaros which are going into the A2 3L...
And the new ones for the Lupo 3L
The black leather seats are in the loft - safe from Child seats etc!
Now all I need for the A2 3L is a set of black leather rears and door cards... oh and some modifying time to get the Recaros into the A2. They're far from a bolt in
Other things to do... I've narrowed the wheel bearing noise to the right rear and the service history confirms that that is the only wheel bearing that hasn't been changed so far.
I've carried out a service and will be changing the timing belt (with all rollers, water pump etc) once all of the parts arrive from TPS.
Oh, having cured the vibration from the engine (still can't believe it was the track rods but hey you live and learn) I now have a knocking on both sides from the suspension. I've double checked and there's no play in the suspension either side so I'm looking at potentially the anti-roll bar drop links or strut top mounts although they were done not so long ago.
