To add to Paul's post. I would open ashtray, remove cubby followed by climate and then you should be able to get some fingers on the rear of head unit to give it some encouragement to release. Long way round I know but I see no alternative.
Andy
is a very common fault when a monkey goes at it with the wrong removal keys
The latch mechanism will be bent out of shape, I'm affraid once it is like this then brute force is the only think that you can do, you should be able to straighten the latch once it is out, damage the radio fascia rather than the dash itself, but it should come out without nay damage to either
Cheers,
from memory the on board service indicator once reset is 10,000 miles, (may be 12,000 miles) or 1 yearTop advice.....cup holders are now fitted .
As my radio reception is non-existent I was hoping to find that the aerial for the radio wasn't plugged in properly once I had got it out, however this was not the case!
On another note I noticed today that after it's service yesterday it is telling me a service will be required again in 8700 miles. I was expecting this to be significantly higher....what distance to people generally get between services? It was only an oil service that was carried out so maybe this value would improve once I have replaced the fuel and air filters.
Thanks,
Steven
Today I Was very busy.
Replaced all the bits I broke in August.
Bonnet, wing, bumper, headlights, fog lights, undertray, wing liner,
And whilst access was enviable I changed the oil and replaced the flex bit in the exhaust with a repair piece, pretty good fit and £29 rather than £173 for a full section including cat.
Tired now. But car no longer ‘mad max’ stylee.
Photos below at lowest point and just now.
