I put a set of winters on that came with 205/55/16 tyres. They scrub slightly going over big dips and make the A2 look almost SUV like

Hi Steve.
Is that SE suspension? Where do they scrub and is it livable with?

Best wheels for A2 in my opinion, fuel economy, steering feel, agile etc. I’m using 185/65/15 al weather tyres
Thanks. My summer wheels are RS4 sport 17" with 205/45 tires. I need to maintain at least this size to make my car clear the speed bumps at work. It scrapes with the standard size! 185/65/15 gives me the clearance.

David, out of interest were you able to swap the foam bases complete with the plastic trays that they sit in as one unit, or did you have to take the covers off? When I originally tried this on the breaker's seats, I found the six screws holding the tray to the crossbar at the front, no problems there. But at the back, when I tried the two splined bolts at the sides of the tray, they were incredibly stiff, and when they finally rotated I think it was only that whatever they fasten to is now free to rotate on the inside of the tray.
It's been a good week for my A2. MOT passed on Thursday with advisories only, for the ball joint dust covers and an indicator bulb going white.
Then today I made hopefully the final change to its seats ...

These are the seats I bought on impulse from @Sarge along with the doorcards, but do you notice something a little unusual? The lumbar mechanisms come courtesy of my breaker. Since it had SE seats I simply unbolted and swapped the seat back frames, routed the wiring back into the new base and put the covers back on - no need to drill out any rivets. The switch base trims come from my previous blue Sports seats.
That left time to fit this bad boy ...

... which as you can see even in that low light, shows up how bad the rest of my interior trim is - look at the rear of the console!
Just time and light enough after that to fit a @depronman checkstrap to the drivers door, another bonus from my breaker. What a different sound it makes and different feeling it gives through the armrest as you open and shut the door! I shall need another one for the front passenger side - watch your inbox Paul

I have to concur with this, I'm quite surprised at the difference, it's far more pronounced than I was expecting. Comfort & steering feel are both improved along with a noticeably lighter feeling to the steering, but not so light there is no steering feeling, like you get with some systems.
Today I....fitted new fuel caps to both A2’s. Same make as already on there but without the broken tab
£7 for 2 inc delivery was a bargain

I have just bought a 2nd set of Pepperpots and am looking at winter tyres. I had thought 185/65/15 were too large as I don't think they appear in the definitive wheel tyre thread? Or do they fit nicely? I currently run 195/55/15. Many thanks
Today I've just bought a set of pepper pots from eBay for winter wheels. Next step, tire choice....
