Today I.....

It looks like N0903168 is an updated version of N0903164. Still with the M8x30 specification.

LLLParts have N0903168 for 0.52 Euros each plus 3.97 Euros for shipping.

Acccording to skoda-parts.com N0903164, N0903168, and N90188001 are all interchangeable.
Thanks Carlston, that's useful information, I have the three M10 x 60 and the two Crankcase Oil Separator seals ordered from Audi, will look into your suggestions and update 👍

Why not just fit an aftermarket unit?

If you do decide that’s the end of the road, please don’t let the car go to scrap with the insurance company.

Send me a pm so I can make better use of it.
Hi, I was thinking of doing that. I am hoping to buy the car back from the insurance company and repair it but I need to wait for the insurance company to get back to me on what they think the car is worth and what the payout will be. It has been recovered today so at the moment it's in their hands.

Got the car back from refit of cam cover, garage was very accommodating of me supplying the fitting instructions and torque sequence diagrams! The correct sealant used in right place and proper torque down should finally stop it leaking?! The egr etc was removed to fit properly so fingers crossed. Thanks to forum for info one correct fitting! Previous garage didn’t use any sealant and clearly didn’t torque back bolts.

Bah.

Today, after only this week waxing lyrical about how good the car is and that I’ve got it exactly how I want it, hopped in at the hotel car park in Reading and drove to Slough station - hot day so I turned the aircon on, only to find it’s stopped working again despite being serviced / regassed last year!

Tried cycling the temp from “LO” to “HI” a couple of times but no joy. Will feel the pipes to check the system is fundamentally working and scan via CDIS to see what’s going on if all good.
Update: Checked for error codes, nothing logged…

The general advice is that it's best not to involve your insurance company when you suffer a straightforward catalytic converter theft from any mainstream car. The cost of claiming will show as significantly increased insurance premiums over many years, well in excess of any payout you might receive.

Today I became another victim of another catalytic converter theft from my 51 plate A2 1.4 SE. My insurance company has deemed the car a total loss.
Noooooo :(
This is absolutely ridiculous, the police should step up their game, it's been going way too long!
It's really sad seeing great cars being destroyed by waste-of-air vandals.

Erling, what's the latest with this? You've been pretty quiet about it - hope all has turned out as good as it looked?
Sadly wasn’t to be. After discussing at length with the owner the issues it had (some of which hadn’t been made clear in the add) we agreed it would be best if he went with an alternate buyer. I don’t think he was short of offers and I fear the car will have ended up being broken but time will tell.

You mean the wife wouldn't let you have it? 😂👍

Nice work indeed and a very good colour match and as CrispyEd said your headlights look amazing too but I think you got a little carried away with the black paint as you appear to have painted your number plate too!
That made me laugh.
Provided the paint code to online seller for a colour match. 👍🏻
