A2 Door Cracking

Nah theres no need to 'argue' with the service/warranty department, Its probably in their interest after all they claim the repair costs back from Audi UK.

If they say its not covered then tell them to look up the problem on their ELSA system - (probably not needed but the TPL number is 2016707/1 according to previous post's on this site)

I think I said very minimal amount of words when I went in, something like 'I have some cracks by the hinges on my A2 can you have a look' When the man came out to look I referred to it being a known problem and its on their ELSA system.
He went inside printed some stuff off ELSA and took some pictures. That was about it.

Scott, I will initially be asking Coulsdon Audi as have had good experience with them thus far. They did the repair job when someone bumped into the side/rear of my car last year. I will let you know how I get on with them if this is any use to you? Mik

Thanks but west London Audi is right on my door step.... while I'm at work anyway thanks anyway hope you get it sorted, let us no how you get on

Well I took my car to audi and they had it the whole day! when I collected it they he said he has written a report and is going to send it with pictures to audi and see if they get the goahead, this was on friday. I thought that was easy enouth, he said he will phone me monday (today) and let me no whats going on.... but nothing, should I leave it a couple of days or chase it up.
He also said they will need the car for 5 days is that normal?

I took mine in today and they said they need it for 2 days. Should have it back tomorrow.

Took ours in last Tuesday and they've still got it, probably ready tomorrow?
So 3~5 working days might be average.

Anyway, a note on the courtesy car, they said in case of a claim theres an insurance excess of £1000, or if we paid £10 per day its ONLY £250 excess!.
My wife got it home and parked it up and not used it all week!!!

They still havent phoned me to tell me whats happening il give them a ring monday if I still havent heard from them!!!!

Got our A2 back today. Was also treated to a washed and vacuumed :)
The repaired hinge areas are now hidden by rubber grommets.
The invoice said it was contracted out to another repairer.

My wife even asked them to pick the courtesy car up because of the excess, Scott it was not an R8 no it was the other end of the scale, an A3 1.9tdi

You should have reminded them of what car it was lol there was only a £2000 excess on the r8 on a track day i went on!:D

No Go!

Had my A2 in to Carlisle Audi on Friday last for a minor service and asked them to review the cracking on my doors, even took in the TPL - called back later in the day to be met with NO! Audi UK say there is no goodwill as the car has not been main dealer serviced. Pointed out the terms of the notice on here but still no joy - what else anyone?

Thats BULL i got mine done and thay didn't even ask about the service history, some dealers just can't be bothered with this .

Drop Mike (Skipton01) a PM with dealer name number and manager who you was dealing with and he should get a bit of flex on the job

Door Cracking

Hi guy's, I have discovered that the passenger door has a split on the inside of where the top hinge is also. Just wanted to know if when they take the door off to fix this, will this affect the remap when they do their diagnostics checks at the end. I read here somewhere that in some cases the car would be reset?

Not true mine was done at a bodyshop that GY Audi use and they don't have a diagnostic computer to put it on, plus what would they do to reset the ecu on a diagnostics check, it wouldn't high light anything up. Hope that put your mind at ease Sojah

Cheers Phil

Scott drop Mike a PM with the dealers details and who you are dealing with at the dealer plus phone numbers etc.......

Still can't believe that they still pulling stuff to get out of this.

Its like most things with Audi, if you go in for now service bits its order and they say all speical orders can't be returned, but just about all things fro the A2 are speical because they don't stock anything, the only good thing they do is send you a text when your part have arrived. Rant over!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Phil
