Not surprised, it can shake you up for a few days, especially from the look of the photos...

Bloody hell Rob, it looked really bad. Glad that your both OK. How easy did it go over? I guess you weren't going so fast - I'm suprised it went all the way over.

That is the one question that niggles me. Did it go over too easily or did he just hit us on the sweet spot & help us with a push? We were probably doing about 20mph.

We'll probably never know the answer to this but I have to say I've thought about it quite a bit today.

Another thing to come out of this is to ensure everyone in our cars from now on will buckle up when in the back. It'll never happen to us...... Yeah right!

A very poorly A2 at present! :(

Rob,
Looking at the damage to the Ford it suggests that the impact was on the rear wheel of your A2 and this area of cars do not distort easly and disperse the energy of the impact, so therefore the energy is transfered to the rest of the A2. In this case you were turning on a roundabout so the passenger side is loaded up (even at 20mph) add to that the impact I am not surprised it rolled.

We are both glad you two are alright and hope to see you sunday.

I am glad to hear that you are OK. Its not nice when your pride and joy is involved in an accident. I hope that everything is sorted out as soon as possible with the insurance, claims, etc, and that you are back on the road as soon as is possible. If there's one thing to ruin your day its an idiotic driver hitting your A2! I hope the shock and psychological effects are limited from your accident. One question - why is it always idiots in Fords that hit A2OC member's A2's???? One thing - it proves that the A2 is safe for its occupants! Are you getting another one before Audi stop making them?

Take care Rob & Kim.

We haven't had it confirmed yet but it looks like the car might be a total loss. Hopefully get a definitive answer tomorrow.[29][29]

If this is the case, we are unsure at present whether we will get another A2. Lots of thinking and sums to do. Just wish we'd taken out the gap insurance - which I've taken out on the Passat today funnily enough.

What a bummer. How much was the gap insurance for the Passat? Expensive?

Shame to hear you might not get an A2, but now your other car has changed it makes sense to revaluate. Still be a member of the A2OC though?

...and as someone stated in another post they don't do Amulet apperently anymore... [16] I do hope you can do another one though... or trawl the dealers for a good 2nd hand high spec version...

Ours was/is Merlot red. If we were to get another one, we would like the same colour again.

As for still being a member, I'll probably still frequent the forum as there's a good bunch of people on here. It feels like a big family.

Rob

A few months ago you posted the following on this Forum! I wish to say exactly the same to you now! ....

My God!!

Someone had a really lucky escape there. Makes us glad we've got an A2. Just a shame it has to come to this to prove what a safe little car we've all got.

I can just imagine all the emotions going through someone head after a smash like this when it's not their fault.

I think that probably covers it.

Oops! Amulet is the solid looking red... yours is Merlot... pity you can't keep the wheels of your car if it gets written off... they were options as well? The more curved versions?

True, the wheels were a no-cost option and to date I have yet to see the same wheels on another A2.

If I'd have been thinking more clearly, I would have taken the collapsible spare away from the scene as this was aquired after we got the car. I'm sure someone on here would have had it for £50.
