I thought this one was 'almost complete' a week or two ago Steve! Glad you're carrying on with it, it's looking great ? .
You’re a diesel man at heart me thinks?!? All about the torque?I got messed around by the company supplying the coilovers for the FSI and they didn't materialise. It therefore went off the boil a bit and so i've decided to carry on with the TDI instead. The FSI will still be brought up to spec, but will be sold as a high spec oem car instead of a modified one.

Good man. You’ve just to do it now. But it does look cracking and just going to get better ?I've just put a heck of a lot of work in to this car and fitted parts to it that aren't readily available now (due to problems with impoirts from Germany) should I want to do it again; so I think for once, i'd like to enjoy the fruits of my labour for a bit.

I was going to get a second build underway using these alloys anmd a set of coilovers, but they didn't arrive so ive scrapped the idea. I'll be sticking with the Monroe's and Eibach springs on this car as its the best set-up ive found. What coilovers are you going for?
That has something of ‘the gentleman’s lounge’ about it steve. You’ll have to see Bly drive it in a smoking jacket!View attachment 83401
Really like the way the interior is coming along with the addition of the TT seats, solid wood knob and wheel and the alu pedal covers.
When the A6 armrest mod becomes available I’ll have a very comfy somewhat luxurious interior ?
If you was feeling even more brave you could quite easily choose to veneer around the 4 dials and DIS rectangle, the turn signal and main beam illuminations would be a challenge but not impossible with a circular punch hole in the correct place. It could look stunning.

Removed the rear axle from my breaker today that I’ll be cleaning up and fitting to this project. In 5+ Years of A2 breaking I've never actually removed a rear axle. Went very well, all removed without any damage in about an hour and 20 mins. I’m going to leave the fitting to my mechanic friend because whilst I feel confident in doing it, the last thing I’d want is for a bolt to snap and then I’m stuck without a car for work. Plus I’d like to upgrade the bushes while it’s all apart.
Now onto proud dad moment
Harriet (8) was complaining that she didn’t have a vanity mirror when riding in the front. So I asked her to do something about it and fit a replacement. With only my instruction, she managed to do it. Super proud and her first car mod.

Love that she’s getting involved!
My son passed his test this week and due to the fact he has got the modding bug from me insurance was a little more!!

I also removed the disc brake axle from the FSI breaker before it left and have made a start on restoring it. It will have new bushes fitted before it’s installed on the car.
A brilliant job...... will be looking for a rear subframe as I know the one I have bought is really rusty..... needs attention. Not sure if it has any holes but if the inside is as bad as the outside..... curtains galore beckon’s.View attachment 83786
