Evening everyone,
Apologies for not getting back to you all sooner, busy busy here right now.
I have just updated the list at
Post #2 which has bumped
@HPmuirt and
@KozMo onto the order list.
All fields have been populated at best guess from whats contained within the thread so far.
If you remember back to the beginning, my goal was to be in a position to offer you an affordable armrest solution. At the forefront of my mind it would have to obliterate the price of the A1 Armrest that Duncan revealed along with being much cheaper than the Sydmeko Armrest. I feel that the costs revealed have risen far too high for me to say that the project is finished. I'm quite surprised no one has jumped in and said they might as well go for the Sydmeko Armrest as its probably cheaper once you add the cost of the A6 armrest to the bracket and painted trim.
I wanted a high quality, low cost item that looked OEM which would be the absolute obvious choice to go for. I won't give up though!
The A1 (A2) bracket that has been redesigned by Paul and produced by Cut-Tec is fantastic for under £7 each delivered. Paying £20 for it to be assembled, welded and painted is great but feel that a second run that may well end up increasing to £35 to assemble, weld and paint which is just too steep to be considered a success and other alternatives need to be considered.
The 3D Printed trim that has been produced so far has been deemed acceptable by some of you but it's still not what I had in mind for this project. Paul has done a great job here but for me it looks to lack the elegance that I had in mind and doesn't marry up to the armrest itself as I had hoped. I know nothing is impossible so will continue to peek down different avenues to find a another solution which can provide the OEM styling I desire for myself and those of you who can wait a little longer. If you cannot wait then Paul already has an interim answer.
As I don't see this project as finished yet I was going to lock this thread until I had things finalised, but I'm very aware that we have prematurely released pictures that has wetted your appetite and you cannot wait any longer. Paul will therefore take over there list (
@depronman I'll email out to you shortly Sir) for the initial order and deal with your questions and enquiries. He will also explain the payment process but I'm guessing most of you will already have his details from previous purchases. No payment or address request PMs will come from me as this interim solution is Paul's and Pauls alone.
Group Order 2 is now on hold whilst I take this venture in a different direction.
I hope you all understand my concerns and that I will get there with a solution that ticks more boxes than it currently does.
Kind regards,
Tom
