Have all A2's got a OBDII connector

I did think about putting it in the cubby, but had the same fellings about ease of viewing it. I have no probs seeing it from where I have put it.
I also like haveing the colour in red to match the rest of the lights.

I know what you mean about watching the consumphion goining down to single figures when you have your foot down:eek: Deff makes you ease off the right foot.

I was a bit worried about someone breaks in. But I figgured that they are not as nickable as sat navs. I must confess I leave it pluged in when I am at work, I just hope I dont end up reggeting it.

I think its pretty acurate. I am logging the amount of fuel and miles driven so I can compare them and see how it is agaist acual fuel used.

Seems very nice product! I wish I knew if it would work with my bus too. Would order it first thing tomorrow :)

i have only just realised how similar our cars are aswell, brothers!!

Enjoy
Chris

Indeed Chris...:)

I have decided to leave the gauge on display pending a drive to somewhere that makes me rethink this action; then of course I will remove the device.

Fingers crossed.

Darren

Ok well enjoy it and let me know what sort of milage your getting i am getting around 53 mpg on mixed town and motorway so you should be similar but it will be interesting to see!

Chris

Will do Chris.

Compared with Ian's A2, (driveforward), you would think that we drive two completely different vehicles. His economy is astounding, whilst mine especially around town hasn't been the best. Now I can monitor my right foot travel in "real time", perhaps I will see an improvement though...;) (One can live in hope!).

Cheers,

Darren

You should try contacting the guy I got mine from. He offers your money back if not compatable. Worth a try he may send abroad.

Good Luck

David

that's one option yes. I would like to be on safe side and find out if there's a way to ensure compatability before ordering this.

early A2's are not fully compatible, i bought a kiwi wifi to link with my iphone, but it only gives speed, rpm, and voltage, not mpg, fuel level, all the fields are blank on the iphone.

i think only 2004 and newer are obd11 compatible.

i will save mine for when i get a newer car!

Right the mpg results are in!! i went on a 130 mile round trip and got 59 mpg driving at about 80 the whole way after calibration which i am very happy with and after spending the rest of the tank on town driving and dual carriage way the average for the tank was around 54 mpg and i did about 480ish miles before i needed to fill up how are you doing on your mpg darren?

Chris

Hi Chris,

I have not done enough miles to get a true comparison yet; as I have been driving solely around the streets of MK.

The early report is good though as I appear to be averaging about 40mpg - and that includes some rush hour stuff too... :D

I am off on a run tomorrow down the A5 and will know better when I return Sunday.

I genuinely think that the economy has improved through being able to note how my right foot is impacting fuel used in "real time".

Loving the ScanGauge II - in a non-sexual way...;)

Darren

Yer i think it had done the same to my driving aswell, it is a good gadget and i finally do not regrett buying without dis! but yeah let me know how you get on

Cheers
Chris
