Hello. I'm new

Good work, John. I hope you enjoy a noise-free door!

The square hole in the ally panel directly above the speaker should be covered, but the original covering is clearly missing. Given that it's part of the door's waterproofing, I'd place a bit of aerospace tape across this... gaffa or duct tape would also be fine.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks Tom.

I thought it odd there not being a vapour barrier,.. I'd completely missed the square hole till you just pointed it out too!

Tom knows his doors!
I'ved had to replace the driver's side check strap twice now. Wonder why they're so bad?

Fitted some parking sensors

Only cos my last car had them, and I got used to them.

How you fitted them John? Just asking as I've got some waiting to be fitted.

Bumper Removal or Boot Trim Removal?

Took the rubber boot seal partly off around the base/nearest bit to your legs, and the trim between it and the alloy looking piece unclips. Get a screwdriver in there, whilst pulling at the two semicircular holes in that piece of trim. From there you'll see the series of clips that you unclip. When that's off you can see behind the bumper and get your hands behind it.

Wizzed holes throughout the bumper and BOOM.

Then I went under the rubber seal, behind the trim to the reverse light.

^Quite an inelegant bodge from me at this point; as I was skiving from work... And needed to get back to work.

At a later stage I will revisit the wiring and do a better job when I'm not rushed.

Just picked up my car from VAG Technik, after the belt, pumps etc was done. Cracking set of lads. Very accommodating, no quibbles here.

'Lked' them on Fb, like the fella asked me to, to show my appreciation,.. And look whose A2 makes an appearance on their profile pic:

Just clicked on to 93k miles.

~7k per year over its life. It has some catching up to do!

Love the little thing
