Chat New car in the CHB household!

Well the rear dampers turned up from Amazon. Higgins is delighted with the free huge box that they came in. Just need to buy the other bits and pieces for it now!

Photo caption should read, "Amazon send free cat with shock absorbers"!. I bet that when fitted your car will purr :)

.......Be very precise when fitting these dampers Conrad. The tolerance distances are minimal at the top strut and will fit only by a "whisker." Is CC2 rapidly becoming your new "pussy" wagon ?. :)

The car has had 8 previous owners, so it is on it's 9th life with me. When I am finished CC2 will be the cat's whiskers.

Our cat can talk !!!!!

I asked it to jump onto the table and it said

"Me? How?"

At least that is what it sounded like!

Wheels picked up today from the amazing LSN coatings in Castleford. £120 for strip, fill and powdercoat in the colour of your choice. I went for mid-graphite again as I like it so much on my winter wheels.

Nearly changed my winter wheels over today for the lovely Sports. But when Ian from IDS mobile tyre fitter came over this morning, we had another idea. The Sport wheels aren't as lovely as they could be. So instead he took them away to LSN coatings in Castleford for me...
Just need to decide colour now ... thinking Silver

Great move, the wheels really make the car.

Whatever size and design you go for the wheels have a huge impact on the appearance.

LSN do varying shades of silver Hilary - i opted for the "silver 25" colour which is a similar match to the original SE wheels. They do do a darker silver or a more "blingy" lighter shade. I would suggest you pay a visit and decide which one would suit.

That's great news that LSN are getting more A2OC business. Hilary: They have a few different shades of each colour, so you can go a little different if you fancy. Mine are the mid graphite grey (they do one shade lighter and one shade darker) On the silvers they do everything from Bacofoil bright to dark steel.

Fitted new mid section including CAT today.
Huge thanks to Hilary for the exhaust system. I rust proofed and sprayed it before fitting.
The clamps for the old back box had to be Dremeled through.
My wife was delighted to get the exhaust off our decking, where it has been "maturing" since last autumn.

This cat is damaged..... :)

Fitted and tightened:

It looks like you may have just got finished before the rain came Conrad - good result !. The "new" exhaust appears to have scrubbed up nicely and your "cat" photo made me chuckle. :)

I love it when you come upon a thread that really makes you appreciate how special the A2 is to command the attention of those in the know. Read this one tonight from start to finish; really rewarding to see an A2 given a new lease of life and saved from an otherwise sorry end. The car is coming on a treat under the care of chb - hats off on a job well done. A very smart looking example and a satisfying project.

The sports wheels were not mine sadly, just borrowed for the MOT from ChumsofManUTD. I tend to stick to the 16" SE wheels, they look nearly as good, but are less dent prone than the 17" sport wheels.

The weather gods clearly don't want me to fix this car!!! Hail stones the size of sherbet pips!!!!
