Hi SheilaReally looking forward to seeing you all!
Ron and I have booked into The Royal Hotel on Friday and Saturday. No availability for the Sunday unfortunately.
Does anyone understand the breakfast arrangements? Not included but no prices shown... May bring own cereal!
The itinerary looks amazing so count us in for everything. We're hoping to stay in Keswick for a few days after the weekend...
Great to have this in the diary.
Accommodation booked. Not sure about Friday, will confirm we can book the whole day on Monday.Provisional yes for Lucas and I. No obvious schedule clash do far. Will confirm later.

From my front door, itās a 5-10 minute walk up to my local Ordnance Survey triangulation point, at the lofty height of about 30m above sea level. After a visit from @Clackers, I took these photos on a stroll this afternoon.
From here, you can see across to the tiny community at Sunderland Point, which can only be accessed at low tide.
On a summerās day, when the tide is high and the sun glistens off the water, it can look tropical. On an overcast winterās afternoon, when the tide is out and the mudflats are exposed, itās nevertheless beautiful.
If you look closely, youāll see Blackpool Tower on the horizon, directly above Sunderland Point. @depronman lives not far from its base, but heās an hourās drive from here.
Cheers,
Tom
Looking forward to meeting you too. It's always great to spend time with the A2OC family... "Barry" will be very pleased to see his friends too!Hi Sheila
Will be great to meet you.
Provisionally for the Saturday morning we will depart from Booths (Northern Waitrose) carpark Carnforth around 9.30 ish to head to the Lakeland Motor museum, Booths have a nice little cafe that sells breakfast sandwiches, scrambled eggs etc, it is literally 4 minute drive from where you are staying so that could be an option for Saturday breakfast, I'm working on Sunday breakfast, I have an idea but need to ask the owner first.
Looking forward to seeing you
I remember the film. So sadAnother option for breakfast is Brief Encounter Bistro at Carnforth Railway Station. If you remember the film you are older than you look . It opens at 8am Saturday and 9am Sunday.
Grange over Sands, not far from Holker Hall either.Just to whet your appetite, Morecambe bay looking lovely in the sunshine today, across to Grange over Sands and South Lakeland hills.
The tide does come in quick though.View attachment 106069
The road out to Sunderland Point was well and truly underwater yesterday due to exceptionally high tides.
The sign in the water says āRoad liable to tidal floodingā. Given that it happens twice a day without fail, Iād suggest itās more than āliableā.
We're now staying in Keswick BEFORE the A2OC weekend so will need to head for home around lunchtime on the Sunday... XXXReally looking forward to seeing you all!

The road near us between Milnthorpe and Arnside is regularly flooded on high tides but strangely there are no warnings ! Vehicles do get stuck in it. Latest was a DPD Van this week. Got through the water on his way to a delivery. Unfortunately the tide was higher on his way back.View attachment 106069

I know the exact spot you mean. Some time back, I used to cycle from Arnside railway station to Sixth Form in Heversham. Sometimes I would be thwarted by an exceptionally high tide. The road near us between Milnthorpe and Arnside is regularly flooded on high tides but strangely there are no warnings !
