What you have all been waiting for the full itinerary
Friday meet at our house anytime after 1pm for a cuppa, then depart at for a drive to Sunderland point to get a flavour of Morecombe bay going via The Royal Hotel Bolton le Sands LA5 8DQ depart there at 3-3.15pm and we aim to back in Carnforth area for 17.30.
19.00 Meal at The Royal Bolton le Sands LA5 8DQ (only those that have requested previously on Teresa's form will be able to eat with us, it gets busy and I cannot imagine the can accommodate late comers) There is a reasonable size carpark opposite the pub.
Saturday Meet at Truck Haven Carnforth LA5 9RQ for a 09.45 departure to Lakeland Motor Museum. Martin and I will be there from 9am, there are toilets here along with a comprehensive cafe for breakfast, this is also the cheapest place locally for fuel (Esso)
9.45am Convoy to Lakeland Motor Museum LA12 8TA for arrival around 10.30am. We will spend approximately 3 hours here allowing time to see all the exhibits and have refreshments.
13.30 ish depart for a drive up the west side of Lake Coniston, across to Hawkshead (possible stop for refreshments here if that is desired, it has a large carpark £4) then travel the east side of Esthwaite Water then across to west side of Windemere, stopping at Lakeside where the cruise boat and steam train meet. We aim to be back in the Carnforth area around 16.30-1700 to allow time for people time to get ready for the evening meal. Anyone not staying locally that wants to attend the meal is welcome to come back to our house for a freshen up.
18.30 for 18.45 Meal at Lakes Bistro, Pine Lake LA6 1JZ, Please have your food order in with @Teresa by Friday 26th May, they maybe able to accommodate late comers but I cannot promise.
Sunday 10.00-10.30 meet up Bull Beck picnic site Brookhouse LA2 9QR, takeaway and toilet available, for a drive over the Trough of Bowland, stopping at Jubilee Tower for fine views over Morecombe bay (subject to weather) then continue on an approximate 35 mile drive via Abbeystead, Dunsop Bridge, Slaidburn towards Bentham ending at Bridge House Farm, Wray LA2 8QP for refreshments, a good selection of snacks to main meals. People are then welcome to follow us back into the Morecombe area or make their way home directly from here.
