Sunderland Point - Friday 2nd June - Tomorrow Afternoon!
To all those who are arriving in the Morecambe Bay area tomorrow...
We're experiencing exceptionally low tides at the moment. The vast sands of Morecambe Bay are currently exposed even at high tide. As such, the isolated village at Sunderland Point, just a mile or two beyond my house, will be accessible.
At 4pm tomorrow, you'll find me in the car park opposite The Globe Hotel in Overton. This car park is the beginning of the causeway to Sunderland Point. I'll be there, ready to take people across the causeway. I have the use of a 7-seater VW Touran that won't mind getting covered in tidal mud, meaning that you needn't worry about your A2 getting filthy. I'm happy to drive across the causeway as many times as is necessary, so there's no limit to the numbers able to attend.
The address of The Globe is...
40 Main Street, Overton, LA3 3HF
The car park coordinates are...

For those staying in and around Bolton-le-Sands (where the Friday night meal is taking place), Mandy and Martin (
@RZX) will be guiding people along Morecambe promenade to The Globe car park, where you'll meet up with me.
Departure from The Royal Hotel in Bolton-le-Sands is at 3:30pm.
Sunderland Point is very picturesque and historically interesting, so I'd encourage anyone without prior plans to join us. The plan is to spend about an hour at Sunderland Point, which will give everyone a chance to see its sights but still have plenty of time to prepare for Friday's evening meal in Bolton-le-Sands.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow afternoon.
Let the fun begin!
Tom
