Evening all,
So a busy morning here at 2work Towers playing with my latest gadget…
For the first time in quite a while I met up with Edward
@Edwrai who has been looking after my spare TDI revision Q instrument cluster along with the RedBox/Diaz Tuning 3DColorMFD screen kit. In the background he recently removed the standard red LCD screen and swapped it for the aforementioned colour screen. A process that I’ve seen pictures of and have determined it’s not something not for the faint hearted for sure. I may give it a go one day though as I’ve now got a spare full DIS cluster from this latest installation. Just to remind you how many display changes this car has gone through, here’s a reminder:
Original half DIS:
Updated the fascia:
Then went the whole way and retrofitted full DIS along with the later fuel level sender:
Leading to this look as of today:
This latest look is of course a little more special as it has enabled me to use this custom car image with matching full Votex:
Which elegantly looks like this within the new screen:
It of course comes with all the Colour DIS functionality that’s you’d expect from these amazing projects. Please do excuse the following pictures as there is a lot of light reflection. I’ll update the pictures in tomorrow’s natural daylight.
Diagnostics:
Yep could do with a cup full of oil:
Run out of room for pictures so will add more tomorrow as need to focus my attention to something else now.
My thanks must go to Andy

With his support in the background I eventually went ahead and purchased the upgrade kit. Andy thank you very much. A massive thank you must also go to Edward
@Edwrai who conducted the intricacies of PCB soldering over the festive period. Edward thank you so much, you have made my A2 even more special Sir. You know I’ll return the favour in kind soon enough Sir.
Kind regards,
Tom
