Steve - they might have the looks (although the pepperpots are growing on me) but I dont want to spoil the ride quality with 17s.
And yes I forgot to take a picture of the boot so will try and sort that.
Simon.
Here is my expected response!!!!!
The facts are that the smaller the diameter of the wheels, the larger the side wall size (if you are keeping the correct rolling radius)
BUT, don't expect any significant difference either way.
The difference between 15" and 17" wheels is one inch radius, and one inch of rubber WILL make a difference, but not much.
It is all a matter of personal impressions, so it is best to try them before you decide.
I am VERY happy with the ride on my 18" wheels, just personal preference!
I would LOVE to set up a blind test so that people could drive a car where they have not seen the size of the wheels and see if they could tell the difference!!
Also remembering that a softer ride means more tyre roll on cornering, so 17s will have improved steering response (just a little, but as noticeable as the effect on the firmness of the ride)
I should keep a copy of the above, to save me time everyone comments on the ride on 17s. (I expect some are saying that the preferred option would be for me to not say anything when someone posts about wheel size!!!)
