Surprise dessert with my order afterwards #Brexit

FWIW, I get weekly enquiries from all over Europe for a VW accessory we make, all ask "do you ship to Europe?"
My reply is always "we ship anywhere in the world!"
Apart from Thailand or China and the like, because of IP theft concerns...

As for buying VAG parts, I have already posted about buying from Eastern & Central European and Baltic states because they are prepared to ship here, unlike Germany.

Its a real shame that the UKGBplc (as I choose to call it) has decided to return to being the Poor man of Europe after 50 years of prosperity.

I still look forward to my next German-Austrian road trip though!

I stopped shipping outside of the U.K. in January. For me it’s not an issue as I have plenty of demand from the U.K., but it was an Avenue for many European members to be able to get A2 parts at a much more favourable rate than they did in Europe because of the beneficial exchange rate.

I’ve also had to stop the import of the Pro Boost ECU for FSI’s and this one saddens me the most. I was only receiving a small percentage per unit so it was never about the money, but it made so many FSI’s that people had given up on roadworthy again and given a new lease of life. For me the risk of getting a hefty import duty bill just isn’t worth the risk. I’m hoping things will change in the future and I can start getting them into the country again.

One of the problems with import/export is a dire shortage of customs agents in the UK; something like 40 to 50,000 are required. These are unproductive, bureaucratic jobs; guess who will be paying their salaries!

Exactly. That's what we were before we joined and that's where we're heading. If I was 20 years younger, I'd be moving abroad, for good. Sooner or later, perhaps, the electorate will realise the massive fraud committed against them. However, the current evidence is not encouraging.

The vaccine rollout, economic growth predicted to be fastest in 70 years to name two.
As an ordinary British citizen I've felt no negatives from Brexit...

But then again I look for the positives in life =)
Small point of information on vaccination: EU member states were free to make their own arrangements as the UK did. Participation in the European Commission's procurement exercise was voluntary.

Across Europe (the geographical definition, not the political), the vaccination roll out data (factual) shows UK has done rather well compared to the EU countries.
Sadly less well with Euro vision.
Mac.

Just as well that the vaccination rollout was carried out by the NHS and not the government's usual partners in crime such as Serco, who pissed away £38b on their useless Trick & Trace - over £500 per person in the UK and only about 20% of those who tested positive self-isolated. A total waste of money. Of course, if the government had been half-competent in the first place, the vaccination program wouldn't have been so urgently required.

The thread as originally started was definitely relevant to the A2. However the with latest direction of input it's now in danger of going into highly contentious territory. Posts from that point onwards have been archived and the thread is now Locked.
