Looks very nice indeed
Maybe my loan ecu remap service would be of use to you
Is it a tdi75 or a tdi90 ?

Hi Paul, It is a 2005 TDI 75 BHC. Remap will be may'ish and yes, your loan solution is probably the best method for me. First I need to prepare for MOT, electrical engine heater and integrated battery charger.
Cheers dieselfan

Which engine heater will you use?

Which engine heater will you use?

My preferred brand is DEFA. I am investigating why their engine block heater is out of production... (use one of the frost plug holes and heat the glycol directly in the motor) Hose heaters are not so effective. Oil tray contact heater is not so effective either.

I am checking and will hopefully come back with some useful information to share with the Forum.

What a great guy phase 2 already planned..

Today I received the sports gear knob from @BoxyA2 and gave it a bit of leather care and fitted it. Fairly straight forward. Too dark in the car park for me to rainX the windows or clay bar the body work. Might have to try again tomorrow. I’ve been buying in bits so that when I get the chance I can finish painting the wheels at long last.

Clay barred the freshly washed paint work to check out the state of it. Gave it a look over to see what kind of pain and stone chip repair needs to be done and whilst I was at it rain-x’d all exterior glass. Needless to say that was my exercise for the day. Now for a curry. Beers and football. I see so many other people doing such wonderful things to their Cars it inspires me to make mine as good as I can (afford)

Today I fitted and balanced my first pair of car tyres. I've already done motorcycle tyres before, but the balancing of car wheels in particular is more of a challenge.
And yes, I've fitted a pair of 205/55 R16 tyres, so will report back on them in time. Kleber Quadraxer2 all-weather if anyone is interested.

Good luck. Front or back and have you done any wheel arch trimming since last time?

Ps congrats on the change - I have managed to remove exactly 1 tyre from an SE alloy with tyre irons, 2x4, rope and a bottle jack and will never ever ever try that again!

I'll be putting them on the back. No trimming of arches done - I'll let the tyres find their own level ;)

The secret to removing tyres is to get a decent bead breaker - once the bead is off, removal is easy with decent tyre irons - I have some 2 foot long ones but my favs are shorter, but a lot thinner and made from forged steel.

A bit of soap, a foam floor tile to cushion the rim and the job is pretty easy.
