Today I.....

Today I ... completed a bit of an interior refresh. I do appreciate the leather seats I'd upgraded to, but they do make it rather dark in there. So I've gone from this ...

... to this. So much lighter inside now!

I bought these seats cheaply off eBay, collected them en route to the recent Welsh driving day and lugged them around the entire route and back home. The doorcards came from @Sarge's Crystal Blue breaker just before it went to the great meet-up in the sky.

The seats are supposed to be a temporary measure, the plan was for them to provide the lumbar mechanisms and the switch-trims, to be retrofitted to a set of blue Satellite SE seats. Those also came from @Sarge's car and have come up very nicely with Autoglym foam and a steam cleaner.

But actually these Sports seats aren't bad at all, with just a slight fraying and sagging on the driver's bolster. Seeing how good a match they are for Crystal Blue, I'm now in two minds. @rosscanning, you may have written the book on trying all the different seats but I share your pain :D Whichever two sets I don't end up keeping will eventually be appearing in the Market.

Nice job Ian. As Steve says, the opposite switch to most, but logically, I too can see why you would want to brighten up your interior.

Impressive that you carried that lot around those roads in Wales and in those conditions, though perhaps the extra weight improved the handling, if not the acceleration... ;)

Today I Was mainly fed up !!

Following the rather unexpected event which was the oil prussure warning and and nasty rattle on Tuesday evening while driving home on the M40 .....

So with a few hours spare , and a car with needs to go on the lorry with the big flashing lights to WOM , I decided to carry out a couple of make me feel good jobs and restore some love back to my car which has in effect taken a dump on the living room carpet ...

Task one

Complete MK 1 TT gear lever installation, the knob means a lot as it came from my very 1st Audi , it needs a polish but it is nearly 18 years old

Task 2

Installation of replacement boot tie down points , the old ones look like they had been used to hold down a digger in the past

Task 3

Install MK 1 TT air bag , this will be coming out once the car is back on the road , as fingers crossed myself and Tom have a cunning plan ......

Picked my car up from WOM Automotive after a full service and a few jobs that needed doing....

Can’t recommend these guys enough the car feels a lot better and I didn’t think that was possible and are more then reasonable on pricing

After a chat with Rob I am going to let them look after the 8 vans I have at work, nice to know there are some trust worthy garages out there

THat's one nice gear knob :)

Sorry if I held you up anywhere Darren! Have to say though, @depronman's remap still put a smile on my face that day!

No mate, not at all, I was merely saying you had a full car, I don’t recall following behind you at any point.

In truth I was most likely the mobile road block in the FSI. Pace was too quick for me - for the car, for my driving style and with the family aboard.

Maybe Di could get another one?? Share the load? :-D

Set a few A2 personal records.

After 15 years 4 months of ownership our A2 is our longest serving motor ?

Today drove our A2 the furthest ever in one journey. Actually it’s quite unremarkable as we usually use larger cars for long journeys; 325 miles. I just wanted to test all the recent repairs, no problems ?

The A2 matched its personal best 58.8 mpg without trying and while being used as a removal van. I’m pleased with that ?

That’s about it really, our 150k mile, 15 year old motor did a good job ?.
