Today I.....

Today I left my car in to have water pump and belt replaced to also get the news of a steering rack failure.. £266 plus labour...not a happy new year....

I had a golf v6 that went through 3 racks in 4 years.

It was on original suspension but was sitting lower due to age. I had the suspension refreshed it sat 20mm higher and I never had a rack go again.

Lite, I cant get to "21" on the adaption page which I believe is where you input the remote, says I need to buy the full version or suchlike.
Sorry I just noticed I failed to add the links in my last post, now done.

Looks like a limitation of VCDS Lite is blocking your way. Unless you have other means of accessing the full VCDS I suggest appealing for a local member who has. There is a list somewhere but how up to date it is I have no idea, probably simpler to start a new thread appealing for help. I know of one member in Alton, which is not too far from you but I expect several even closer.

Swapped over the buttons on a Concert I got for not a lot

So this is what it was like before I started:

Gott a donor stereo and strip it down (appears to have not had much use)

And Now installed:

Very happy with the results and I followed the guide here: https://www.a2oc.net/community/inde...rn-buttons-on-a-concert-ii.35250/#post-308621

And I have since found out that there are two types of volume knobs on these, ones that push in and out and ones that don’t!

Realised I have always felt good about driving my A2. I need to explain; I buy cars new and for a few years there is a new car credibility. Then they go through a phase when they look dated. Eventually they become old car credible.
My A2 skipped the middle stage, never felt the dated lacking credibility phase :)

Totally agree with that statement ? I will be trying out our latest a2 with Paul’s remap done last night ..looking forward to it I did have mixed feelings as car is mint totally original with only 34k from new ..we stored it for a while but as sally said why do that for someone else to only benefit at some later stage ..

Today I was walking down my street and I spotted a nice island green A2. Stopped and said to the lady who just stepped out "Nice car! I have the same one....". She replied "It's just broken down" looking a bit lost. Quick glance at the back (of the car) and I see it's an FSI, so I say "FSI's can be quite temperamental". She looked at me a bit confused and I realized my comment was not very helpful

You should have told her to join A2OC if she wants to be totally depressed about the situation. Fsi, bad and all that.

She probably belongs to that category of A2 owners that when I drive them by I always do the thumb-up, don't return the salute and look at me as if I am bonkers :D

The bit that gets me, ? is their look of bonkers even incredulity, somehow missing the fact someone is driving the same vehicle as them! I think you could put that down to driving with undue care and attention. ?
