Today I.....

replaced the drivers seat belt release... Once I figured how to flip the seat forward removing the rear bolts... Yesterday I fitted a Scania wiper mounted washer jets and rerouted the washer pipes. I will give it a few days to see how they work...

Did you disconnect the existing washer jets or leave them connected. Any pictures or part numbers and costs for the Scania parts?

Dont keep us in suspense!

Scania part £7, a few hose joints , £3 or £4, metre of small bore washer hose. I disconnected the washers as I damaged the hose - but all the connections are accessible if you lift the panel they are under and feed them out. I blanked the N/S pipe with a one way valve. Could use a bolt etc. I then fixed a join to change the diameter of the hose and for simplicity tyrapped the hose to the higher wiper arm. I made a small hole in the scuttle plastic to prevent the hose from crushing with the bonnet on. first impressions are it needs a 1 way valve in the supply hose as it squirts water about 1/2 way up the first wipe of the blade. However there are 4 or 5 visible lines of water when it washes. I'm looking into the Scania clips that hold the jet on and a way to hide the hose without having Tyraps visible. So far much more water gets on the screen. Sadly however my screen has some nasty marks in it and may need replacing...

some pictures of a few of my A2 mods
sorry didn't have time to wash the car/ wheels, they do look a lot better when clean

yes the heated seats where a kit from ebay, 4 carbon fiber heating pads, control box and switch
makes the A2 soooooooo much nicer in the cold weather

TT gear knob was a PITA to fit, it is mounted on the spine of an old std gear knob with lots of bespoke machine of the spine and then 1 1/2" cut of the top of the gear shifter pole

Paul did you do any sort of "How to" write up on fitting the heated seat pads. Seriously fed up of a cold bum on cold leather seats!

I have the 3D printed CAD files to fit the switch into the 'wing' on the center console and the little infill pieces around the switch. All the wiring is hidden under the center console where all that foam is, there is a control box and a relay
I also 3D printed some converters to hold the white connectors on the wiring loom into the correct location in the connector frames under the seats, so seat removal is still easy as the heated seat connectors are where Audi intended them to be (just different connectors)
Power was picked up from the main feed into the passengers under feet compartment.
I did a small write up on here at the time.
By FAR the worse part is taking the seats apart to fit the heating elements, I still have nightmares about those hog rings, but proper hog ring pliers and new hog rings would no doubt make life easier, I mad do with what I had
If anyone is interested I have a pair of Audi A8 heated seat switches which I was going to use instead of the switch unit provided in the kit, but it turned out the (a) the switch provided is of good quality, (b) it fits with a little adaptation into the right hand wing in an unused switch blank (c) wiring in the Audi switch was going to be a nightmare.
If anyone is going to fit the 4 wire heating elements (i.e. genuine VAG elements) then the switches are ideal and I understand the wiring is common across all of the VAG range - PM me if anyone is interested (they are black)
