brought the car to Vantaa after having the bearing replaced yesterday. Very nice... apart from the brake discs seem to be warped. Ah well, need to try and skim those, I think.

Gave my friend's 1.6fsi storm a single stage paint correction a few days ago. He bought this from a member on here and it's a great car with some tasteful modifications. Paintwork came up really well considering it was just a single stage correction. Unfortunately it has the usual lacquer peel on the bonnet that this colour seems prone to having . Once the bonnet is painted it should look really good . My neighbours thought I'd purchased a third A2!

A third A2? What, do they think you're some kind of freak? ?
TBF, I thought you'd bought another too.

So, out of interest, I decided to enter the details of both my A2's on we buy any car website. Now I know they usually value cars quite low but I was shocked with the valuations. 2003 1.4tdi se 153k miles.....£150. 2003 1.6fsi se 52k miles ......£300!

That’s better than my 52 plate
Ford galaxy 1.9 tdi £49.00!!!
I scrapped it for £250

So we passed the MOT yesterday first time however there is 2 advisories.
Just wondering if these are needed to be repaired asap and how expensive these repairs are?
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, does anyone know the part number of the top oil cap, for 1.4 petrol?

There are four different OEM part numbers for the oil filler cap. All are used on many different engines in the VW group. The 06B103485B oil filler cap, for example, was even used on a 1947 VW Beetle.

The model with the oil level sensor (ie. OEM part number 030103485AE) doesn't appear to be available aftermarket, but the other three OEM part numbers are available aftermarket.

I let Martin drive my tdi as his is off the road at the moment, as you can see he is a bit more feather footed than me, he did get it up to 80.6mpg but we have been creeping on M25 for 7 miles now so it's gradually dropping. This is over a distance of 212 miles, mainly motorway.
Sorry about the hand he was trying to create shade

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the most authoritative post on oil filler caps you’ll ever see!

That's impressive ! I'm averaging 60-62mpg from mine with a mixture of motorway and town/traffic jam on my daily commute . That's me sitting about 60-70mph as well. What speed were you doing ?

Both things that will only get worse. The top one (brake) I’d be getting attended to straight away if it was me.

Larax, I would agree with Erling . I would make sure which bush they mean on the suspension so that you can work out whether it’s a suspension lower arm or one of the other bushes. However the brake one I would get sorted as it won’t help with fuel consumption and will wear out components more quickly.
