I had some help (god love the school holidays!!) and in exchange let her sit in the drivers seat AND wear the seatbelt!

She asked me if she could have this car when she grows up!!! Didn’t have the heart to say absolutely not immediately!!
Which pedal covers did you get! Are they genuine TT ones?

Afternoon Erling,

Those pedals look fantastic. Great addition Sir.

Kind regards,

Tom

My father found them online. They’re listed as for a polo I think but just Chinese knock off stuff I think.

Needed a bit of fettling as the accelerator in a 1.2 doesn’t have a rubber cover it transpires, it’s just a single piece of plastic.

So today I found this for £10 ….

Today, I removed a complete head from a 1.4 AUA to put on a tappety AUA engine, I was surprised as how easy it came off.
so hopefully will be transferring it & the hydraulic lifters over to the noisy car next week.
very satisfying when things go without a hitch, very happy :)

I must remember to take some pictures,

Today I spent a few hours with Tom @timmus who has fitted cruise and I now have working heated Mk1 TT leather seats which I'm sure will come in handy in the winter months.
Glad you approve of the new type of seat mounting for a TT seat.
Great to meet up and chat A2 and life in general and just 50 mins from home.
Thanks once again to Tom & his skills, enjoy your soon to be walking / climbing trip and the biscuits. 👏👍

I'm hunting for a thread that I'm sure I read recently but google search is not helping.

It concerned an owner who fitted Polyurethane Bushes to the rear axle. He had fitted brand that did not fit but the company were very accommodating and machined up ones to suit. Who was he and what make?

I note the main brands that come up with search are Powerflex and PSB but the PSB ones rotate. I thought I read that the A2 bushes have cavities that must be aligned in a certain fixed direction.

Thanks

Stan?

Many thanks Andy - either good memory or good searching :) I'll PM Stan for the details.

Hi Andy,

Yes I fitted Powerflex bushes on the rear axle but found that I couldn't get them back into the casting under the car. I took measurements and images and contacted Powerflex and they kindly machined some of the same bushes to the size I needed. It was a tight fit, (a bit of a pain) to get the axle back in but got there with lots of silicone grease, jack's, bars and podger bars to align up the holes for the bolts.
All has been good since I got it back together though.

Hi Stan. I just sent you a PM before I realised that you had replied. I'm fitting them with the axle off the car so I presume I should have no major issues and will not need them modified.

Today I had a great day out visiting Ian and Adam Kleyn to get the OSS working on the white car, worth every penny big thanks to you both and Kat who kindly took us to Brooklands while the guys carried out the job 👍

23hrs 45mins in and driven 963 miles in total. I think it may well be time for bed 😂
