Today I.....

:) Free is even better !! Worth downloading VCDS lite and trying the cable so you know its still working properly 👍
I’ll give it a go in the next few days. Just to be sure, an incompetent user can’t do any harm with VCDS lite can they??

No I don't believe so. I think the lite version is limited you can only read/reset errors but cannot do adaptions or coding changes. You need the full version for that. To be honest though I've not used the lite version, I bought full version as we have a number of VAG cars in the household.

Today I only just realized there was an A2OC app and have now installed it on my phone. Has it been available for a while, no idea how I missed that 🤣

You can get generic bolt covers that will fit fine.
I don’t want generic, I want nice 😅

In other news, today I found out that my uuuuh swift driving has managed to crush a 5L bottle of water I kept in the trunk, bathing the battery and the rest of stuff. I am surprised the car kept on going as if nothing has happened, it must have been about a week.

@Malcyb The free version will show you the DTC associated with the EML. You can then decide whether it's safe to drive, and if you need to investigate further.

Mac.
Thanks. I’ve read through a few of the threads here about the issues associated with getting it to connect so hopefully I can get that far…

Good grief it’s not raining and there is a strange yellow thing in the sky.

Took the opportunity to do an oil service a bit early. Millers flush, and oil and a new Bosch filter. Purring like a pussy cat. Took the opportunity to change the air and cabin filter whilst at it. I do hope the yellow thing comes back next weekend so I can change the fuel filter and spark plugs

Finally got little Dog to go to the shops.

He’s been on shopping strike for about two weeks. Battery fully charged, everything works, turn the key, nothing.
I thought:
Immobiliser fault
Engine earth
Starter failure
Ignition circuit failure etc
No it was the battery, charged to 12.5v, produced current to operate everything but the starter. How does that work?

Talking of cleaning. MOT tomorrow 27/04/24

Cleaned the interior; clean cars always pass. The car is also having the engine checked by an engineer, hoping it's installed properly.

It's not actually a bog brush, they are proper valet brushes. 😄
