Today I.....

Today was spent prepping a set of Votex Skirts. Grinding cutting, chiselling the blasted stuff that previously held them on. What a job.
Anyway now rough sanded and primed, ready for filling, sanding and priming.

Today I found this wee issue with the ATL turbo pipe. I've refitted it for now while I search for a replacement or see if someone is able to weld it up.

Looks like the support bracket clamp fretting issue on the metal pipe. The AMF and BHC does not suffer the same due to this pipe being plastic and less pulsing from the standard turbo.

I did wonder if that was where the clamp was placed on the pipe
Hopefully my 3D printed clamp being twice the width and a larger diameter hole such that a layer of 2mm thick foam tape can be placed inside the clamp will prevent this fretting damage

There was a very kind member who did a superb job of welding mine up as good as new. When I get a chance I’ll look in my messages to remind me who it was, perhaps he’d oblige to you too?

@depronman - When I’m back from holidays next month I’ll come back to you on the clamp.

Best of luck on the brazing rods. Everything I have tried in that sphere is crap
I think you have zero chance on something so thin and you will very likely end up with a massive hole compared to a small hole
I hope I’m wrong

Probably better with some type of epoxy putty, prep the area to key it, apply and mould and file to shape. Should give a temp repair until a replacement pipe is found.

Collected from the beauty salon (bodyshop) after a local artisan went over the whole car and painted both bumpers, rear arches, mirrors and polished out some scuffing.
It looked great before, when i picked it up in April, now it looks Brand New! Neighbours don't believe it's a 20yr old car

Got these from eBay

Hi, I'd received the boot struts before I left for work, so hadn't had time to install it, but I quickly checked it and tried to push the rod into the tube and to my surprise it didn't move at all. I can twist the top left/right, but that's it.

Is that normal? I'd literally put my body weight on it too, but to no avil. Cheers
