Votex bodykit jacking-point cover needed

Kane has found a source at €60 per set. 1 Month delivery time.

Please add your name to the list if you're not already registered over on the German forum and can add your own name.

Don't worry about the exchange rate, moving cash around or similar as that can be dealt with relatively simply :)

Shipping should be the right side of €5, so I'd expect the total to be around £55-60.

Hi Louis,

For me the covers are definitely not too expensive, the problem for me is two-fold.

1 . I read the thread and used Google translate to help, as I don't understand German, but couldn't tell if this price is for "original covers" or if someone is making a mould and getting a "close fit".

2. As my understanding of German is really poor, even with Google, I'm not exactly sure what I need to do (I'm not a member of the German forum, so would I need to register first??).

Any help you could give would be very welcome.

.....and for information....I WILL purchase.

Many thanks to you and Brett for letting us know, but please help further if you can.:)

Cheers

Jeff

Hey Bret

Can you Please add me to the list? I've registered to the german forum but have not been given the rights to post for some reason.

Cheers,

Hi,

Like Mustang I can't understand german either so is it possible to add me to the list without me registering? as I definatley want to buy a set too,
:)
Cheers,

the guy who's dealing with this is Kane. He's the one with the ex-6 speed box - he does not do things by halves, so I expect a decent level of fit and finish. I know he's also needing the covers himself, so I figure that should say something about the level of workmanship expected.

If you don't understand German and want a set anyway, please add your name here:

- Mustang-owner
- willnabby
- a2sport

copy-paste the list and I'll add them over on the German forum as time goes on. I've been under the weather today and just checked - at the moment, 10 sets are being made and that list brings it up to three available.

Hi Bret,

Thanks very much for the info and adding me to the list.

Perhaps a big ask.....but I'll ask anyway.....could you let me/us know when they'll be available and how/who/when I should pay....I'm happy to pay now.

Many thanks

Jeff

Update from the German forum.
The covers will be produced in the beginning of June.
So give a shout if you want a set.

Cu,
Louis

That's the trouble with two threads about the votex parts.

May I all point you to this reply from Bret

I do believe I have four sets heading towards the UK.

If you want one of them, please send an *email* to bretti_kivi at hotmail dot com and I will return it with a PayPal address for some funds. Right now, the GBP/EUR rate says the cost is just over £50, so I'd like to see something like that and I'll argue the small stuff later.
I also need an address for the courier. I will check how these things will be sent within the UK, I'll ask my logistics specialist. If multiple people want to collect together, then please say so.

The new covers have just arrived. They look to be well made and I have tried the covers on my kit. I have (had) a missing front left and can probably see why this fell off as the new cover wobbles about and is not a tight fit. The original 3 remaining covers I have fit snugly, and the new covers fit exactly the same.

These new covers are as good, if not better than the originals.

A very big thanks to Armin (KANE326) for his effort.

Cheers

Jeff

I would be interested in a set of covers as we have just lost one and the comments seem to indicate that they are as common as rocking horse s**t. In the meantime (when the weather improves) I will be looking at making one from perspex.
As Dragoon has said the problem is how to stop them falling out in the first place.
If I am successful in making one I will post pictures and dimensions

I havent got around to it yet but I plan on sticking a small hook/ring of some description on the back of the sill cover and also on the inside of the bodykit sill and then attaching a cable tie to each end. At least that way if it were to fall out it will still be held on by the tie.

Effectively I`ll be trying to mirror how the std jack point covers are held in place.

Bit of super glue, a few rings and some cable ties. Should be an easy enough fix for under a fiver.
