TODAY I...........
The A2 has been having a battery drain problem but now its hopefull been traced to the CCU unit .
My local mechanic has found that removing the right hand plug in the unit to stop the current drain..
Hi Stevie,
The right hand connector is the main power connector for the CCCU.
I don't think the diagnostics have actually given too much of a clue as to what is wrong.
Just because the power has been removed from the CCCU and no further current drain is noticed, doesn't pinpoint the issue to the CCCU (unfortunately).
The issues could still be any part of the Comfort System.
Trying a replacement CCCU might also not be respresentative of acurate diagnostics.
The swapped CCCU would need to be coded to EXACTLY the same coding as your existing Q-code CCCU, otherwise systems that are not coded will not partake in the Comfort System, and once fully coded you might still have a problem.
There are many things that could be causing a drain, and a good way to start troubleshooting is to remove all fuses from the fuse box and test current draw using a digital multimeter.
Replace each fuse, with all the cars doors closed and test each one 5 minutes after inserting and without opening any doors or turning andthing electrical on or off.
It can be a difficult task fault finding these issues, but if battery drain is occuring overnight, or even over a couple on nights, it's likely to be something quite substantial (depending how good and how new your battery is).
Rob from WOM Automotive diagnosed a very hard to identify issue some while ago now that was a failed front door window regulator/door control unit - basically the electroic module that opens the front front window and determines what the door locks do.
If you have a search for WOM or battery drain, I'm sure you'll come across the thread.

Good luck in resolving - and have patience.
