Forum Update Today

Has the update rendered the site psychic now??

How does it know these things will happen tomorrow??

Hi Mike, that is a strange one that I haven’t seen yet.

Are you sure it is not caused by the date on your laptop, PC or phone being wrong.

If not then we might need to change the title “Alerts” to “Mystic Meg predictions”

Steve B

Nope - date on my MacBook is bob on and now i've clicked on alerts again, it's reverted back to past time.

Has Derek Acorah joined the web team??

I have raised a support request with the vendor re the future date issue. I'll report back.

Derik Acorah? I hope not. We wouldn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

Have you checked your time zone?
It should be GMT but sounds more like it is set to the twighlight zone.

But seriously, random errors like that are hard to trace.

I've created 2 new custom codes:
  • Link to post should now work
  • Link to thread should also work
I can see the usefulness of these new codes but can you explain a little more how to use them for someone like me who is relatively unacquainted. I have looked at your 'POST=....' Help example and follow it up to a point. I assume 1234 is the post number you wish to pull up but where do you find that?

You are doing an amazing job of managing the upgrade, thanks.

Andy

You would put [post=299731]Andrew's post above[/post] if you wanted to link to your post above (ie on the right hand side it is post number #107 - if you hover over that it will list the post number at the end of the URL address)
Example: Andrew's Post above...

Thank you for that I thought it would be something like that but the post number is inaccessible on my IPad. Most of the time I view the forum using Safari on my IPad 2 and cannot hover over the in-thread top right post number. If I touch it I just get the usual pop up window 'open/open in new tab/ add to .....'. Just will have to use the PC upstairs unless there are alternatives to use on the IPad to reveal the full post number???????

Andy

Following my previous post I thought I might be able to tweak something to reveal the post number on the iPad in account>preferences but find the 'settings' option is inaccessible???????

Is this thread special in that I cannot edit my own posts? - Andy

Edit

PS. Strange, I can this one but not my two posts just above???

Sorry if this has been covered but does this update stop tapatalk from working? I've not been able to log into my account since about mid last week! Having to use a browser on my phone which doesn't work very well.

No longer am able to edit this post, behaving as though you only have limited time after posting to make edits - Andy

Look at posts #49,52 & 56 above - Andy

It does not stop Tapatalk from working but you have to delete the link to the old forum and attach the new one (even though they have the same URL you still need to do this.
