Chat Good News - Some positive publicity for A2OC at last

do you think they may be interested in a 280,000 mile TDI, still running like a goodun and still returning 60 to 65 MPG depending on the journey profile

Cheers,
Paul (Depronman)

How long do you think it'll be until you make it to 300,000 miles, Paul? :)

Regards,

Matt.

I normally clock up about 12,000 a year, BUT my other half as got her eye on the blue TDI, so we all know what is going to happen don't we, she will get the TDI sooner or later, therefore it may take another 3 years to hit the magic 300,000
I am however determined to be driving it when it turns over from 299,999 to 300,000
I have clock 100K in a few previous cars over the years including a Triumph Stag and a 911, and 200K in an Audi 100 in the mid 80's (what a nice car that was) but never got anywhere near 300K

Cheers,
Paul (Depronman)

If it has potential for a newsworthy article perhaps the Club could arrange a 'comparison' test between the lowest and highest mileage cars.

If Audi Driver are interested do we have any volunteer owners out there with suitable A2's

Cheers Spike

The electronic version is out today and the magazine whould be on the shelves in a day or two.

I bought the online version for £2.99 from the phone app "Audi Driver".

The feature is spread over FIVE pages (I would have been over the moon with 2!)

I can't comment on the wording because Neil used my exact words from the email I sent him.

I thought I was just giving him some info, rather than the whole feature, but I am glad that it was good enough to use!

My Grandson is alsp well pleased because he took many of the pictures and Niel was kind enough to put his name under them!!

So a HUGE thank you to Neil and the Audi Driver team for publishing this and also for adding in my words about this great club of ours.

Cheers

Had to download a copy as couldn't find it anywhere.. Excellent article.. Also saw the pic of mine on the aitp article... All good attention for our aluminium chariots lol

I'm going to be looking out for this issue, that's for sure! I'm away to Holland for two weeks and a good place to find it is Motorway service areas. Hope that I'm lucky!

If you want me to David I'm hoping to go and pick up a copy this morning. I can pick up a copy for you and send it to you on return?

That's very kind of you, Steve. I SHOULD find a copy on my way to Holland and the benefit is that I'll have something (else) to read when I'm there! Thanks again!

For those who wish to buy a copy of this months Audi Driver.... ive just rung the publishers and it would appear that it was "late off the press". They said that even subscribers hadn,t received it through the post yet.

It should be available through newsagents/supermarkets at the start next week.

Just read it, its now available in W H Smiths. What a good article! You've done a lot to promote the A2 as a model and the A2OC as well in that write-up Steve. The project looks very fresh in the photos and i'm sure will inspire many to think differently about the A2. I know your the chairman but thank you for putting the effort in and doing it for the club.

Love the pics but only got the downloaded pics but still buying the mag once get hold of it... Im seeing more and more younger lads buying these now.. Especially as you can remap them.. Which undoubtedly they won't declare on insurance... To me that car is really going to appeal to them.. Its a massive list of mods which is really going to get them started.. Could become a new hot hatch craze.. That's one very nice car I would love to own.. Hey Mr. B I've heard of a low rider suddenly come up for sale.. Fancy a trade lol..

Nice one Zippy. Tempting too. You know I like your car a LOT.

But it I will pass on that "kind" offer ("kind" of crazy that is!!!)

Thanks for the kind words though.

And thank you too Steve.

I am glad that you read it as a promotion of the A2 and the A2OC as much, if not more than, my project, that was the aim.

We will be watching the registrations closely.

We have already had one new member that quoted that they heard about the club from the magazine.

When I contacted my insurance company regarding a remap they said that because the power increase was less than 10% of the total there would be no extra charge....good result ! :) .
