Chat Good News - Some positive publicity for A2OC at last

Different companies must have different policies Zip..... I,m insured through privilege.

I was having an issue when looking for agreed value and some wouldn't insure the airride...
I ended up using Adrian Flux, not as good or as cheap as they used to be but they did the agreed value and acceoted all of the mods (including the remap)

Insured mine fully comp with Adrian Fluxes, all mods declared for £285 a few days ago. Happy with that and would recommend them.

Just had a shock from them over the i3 insurance though, £585 !!!
Did the "Compare the merecat . com" and Tesco are offering basically the same cover for £308 !!!

It is not always possible to shop around a LOT if you have a modified car, but it is still worth trying anyway.

I did and got mine for 360 ish 380... Everything declared with Hastings... Think it's up for renewal soon so will let you know how I get on.. Had to send photos of my arches... Airbags... Pipes and couplings.. Absolute nightmare... Agreed a value of 6000... Which surprised me...

How are you guys getting so good insurance quotes. I've just been quoted over £500 by Aviva and that's with 14 years no claims discount and having done pass plus. I shopped around as well and Aviva was still cheaper with a multi car quote

I haggled mine by saying someone had given me a cheaper quote.. It works if you speak directly to them.. I got 0 points... Full no claims.. Took me a while but beat em down... Sometimes putting in a higher voluntary excess will lower it.. Remember what you don't need. Breakdown you normally have on a bank account so don't need that..

Good advice,

As it is a new car I don't need breakdown cover, I always tell them to stuff the legal cover and definitely no GAP insurance etc. No hire car either.
I did speak to them on the phone and they said they couldn't beat any of the other offers I have had.

I think they are best at modified and specialist vehicles rather than standard cars.

If you simply search for "Audi Driver" on Google, you're taken to the Publishers website. Then there is a search facility for that particular publication. You are then informed of the nearest Newsagent that has the issue. I was surprised to find that it was available very close to me, in Prestatyn! I'm on my way to get it! (there's now no need to be searching for it on my way to Holland, today!)

My wife picked mine up from W.H.Smiths today. She tells me that it was hidden behind another mag and was lucky to find it !. Its a great write up Steve and the photo,s are spot on too.....a good job well done !. I feel sure that it will hopefully bring in new members to the club and make other car owners more aware of our great cars.

Cheers
Dave:)

The one on the first page and the one on the last page were taken by my grandson and he is over the moon to see his name in print.

Many of the others, especially the side on shots etc. were taken with my iPhone !!!! Technology is a wonderful thing. The definition on those from the iPhone is amazing!!!

I've just read the online version (£2.99). Superb article Steve has written that should put A2OC and the A2 really "on the map" with other Audi drivers, and raise the status of the A2 with those Audi drivers who perhaps looked down on the "little Audi".

Having seen Steve's car in the flesh, I can vouch that it's a stunning example including the underside!

Just wondered if there was any news on this proposal - Did you get chance to talk to Neil at ADI

I should have every related copy of Audi Driver in my collection if we are allowed to use them

Cheers Spike

I have asked Neil (via email) So we will see what he says!

''Steve, Audi Driver have featured the A2 several times over the years with road tests on all standard models and an AMD tuned TDI. I've always wondered if they would give permission for us to use copies in our archives, even if it means paying a small fee.

May be worth asking the question if the opportunity arises''

Hi Spike,

Neil is a great bloke. Came straight back with a yes to reproducing the articles with the club / forum.

No fee, all he asked for was the magazine to be credited along with their website !!

Not only that but he is uo up for a feature on our high mileage A2s that are still going strong.

Perhaos we can get a budding author to volunteer the wording fir the article? And it would be great if we can each get a picture of our high mileage (200k plus) cars. It would have to be hi res pictures. But he would include the feature which would be another great advert for the A2 and the club.

One thing that can can be included in any such feature is facts such as 230,000 miles is approximately the distance from the earth to the moon or (I think) about 10 times around the world.

Akso by my calculations (which would need to be checked) each piston in a car that has done 210,000 miles has gone up and down an amazing 8,400,000,000 times Based on an average RPM of 2,000. (Which is conservative).
I woukd be interested to hear other people's calculations of this figure. I managed to get six o levels in school, one in maths and three others (LOL)

So can we have a volunteer who would like to write an article that will be featured in the magazine???
